Hi Everyone, In January we ran the Add-SPOOrgAssetsLibrary officetemplatelibrary powershell command. Like many tenants it took over 48 hours to work, but in the end when I open Word, click new, click Tenant name, I can see the docx files in the SharePoint library specified in the powershell command. Great our users of Word Desktop can see the templates and use them. So can our Excel and PowerPoint users. BUT Word Online users can't see the OfficeTemplate library when they open a new document from https://www.office.com/launch/word They can see all the publicly visible templates but not our OfficeTemplate library as a folder. NOTE PowerPoint online users DO see the OfficeTemplates library as a folder when they start a new presentation from https://www.office.com/launch/powerpoint QUESTION Does anyone have the OfficeTemplate library folder in Word or Excel online yet ? Just like exists in for PowerPoint online after you've run the Add-SPOOrgAssetsLibrary officetemplatelibrary powershell command.4.4KViews1like7CommentsSave site as template missing
Hi, I've created a SharePoint site and I want to save it as a template, so any future SharePoint sites could use this template to start. From the following link, it mentions how I could save the site as a template: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/dev/general-development/save-download-and-upload-a-sharepoint-site-as-a-template However when I went to the "Site Settings" section, the "Save Site as a Template" link is missing. Under "Site Actions" are only these links: I did some investigation and the following link mentions a couple of reasons why I may not see these links: https://sharepointmaven.com/2-reasons-why-you-cannot-save-site-as-template-in-sharepoint/ However I don't have publishing features enabled and custom scripts are allowed at the tenant level. I was wondering if there is another setting(s) that could disable the "Save Site as a Template" link? Thanks! Jason21KViews0likes1CommentBackground image on page template not showing in new webpart
We have the following page template. Once we post the page, the image looks like this in the News web part. Image shows up fine when we view the post in a new window. We have tried opening up the image in a new tab and refreshing and then refreshing the post. This solution no longer works.6.2KViews0likes15CommentsQuestion about adding SharePoint Look Book templates to SharePoint tenant
I've recently discovered the SharePoint Look Book, and have a question about what happens when templates are added to a tenant. When the template gets added, the template isn't made "active" on any SP sites, correct? It's just loaded as an available template to be applied later?855Views0likes1CommentSite Pages showing as Page Template - Cannot publish major version
Does anyone know the fix for this weird bug. A bunch of our site pages in Modern SharePoint started showing "This is a page template saved on your site.Learn more." green bar at the top of the site page even though they are not templates, they cannot be found in the templates folder and be used as a template. It just started a recently. All of these pages didn't have that issue before and it affects multiple other site collections. We have no idea how to fix it and Microsoft Premium support has been unhelpful so far. We didn't change any configuration, when creating a new page it creates it correctly, It seems to only affect existing pages (even from 2 years ago) . This is an issue because we can't publish a major version because it only lets us save it as a template. (ie. just as minor versions).1.1KViews0likes0CommentsSite Script
Hi All, I'm new to site templates, and I'm trying to write a site script that I can apply to the created sites. First, I have to create per site 8 of document libraries, and then I want to add a "quick links" web part with links to each of them. I can see how to create them with the "triggerFlow" verb, but my question is how to create the web part and add those links? Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks a lot! Greetings, I cannot find any information online regarding an issue I trying to solve. We have a modern document library, with Content Types assigned to Templates. The document library also has sub-folders. The issue is that within the root/parent level of the Document library, the new button Content Template listing, order & choices is correct. However, when you go into a sub-folder, it is different, and I cannot figure out how to make all sub-folders provide the same 'New Button' options as the parent/root level. Attached are (2) screenshots showing the difference. Much appreciated! --- Child / Incorrect version --- Root1.2KViews0likes1CommentAccess company branded templates from within Office apps
Does someone have more information about this feature? Link to the article: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/blog/2020/01/31/empower-firstline-workers-supercharge-search-whats-new-to-microsoft-365/ I am really interested but I couldn't find details about it anywhere. I guess (and hope) that with "company branded templates" they mean content types stored in the content type hub, and maybe this is related to the "modern content type gallery" recently announced in the message center (Roadmap ID 57315). Hi All, Looking for feedback from the community. In Modern SharePoint Online how and where does one create a custom column or a Page and Library template so it can be available and used at any site. With new Hub and each site being a separate site architecture, the modern SharePoint is quite different than classic architecture. Thank you for your feedback! I'm trying to use Document Sets as a way to organise multiple sets of files and give each set metadata (status, cost, person responsible etc). Is there a way to use flow to retrieve the metadata of a selected document set, in a similar manner to how you would retrieve file info? Our proposed scenario is: Generate new request for information (new document set) Upload supporting files relating to the request for information into the document set Run a flow on the selected document set, retrieving the metadata and inputting into a template Save the Flow output (completed template) into the document set We were managing this previously using lists, but are finding it painful using attachments to list items. Also, I'm aware that Document sets are being brought across to modern, so we're anticipating this will be a useful feature going forward.2.6KViews0likes1Comment
