Adding Extension AADSSHLogin over AZ CLI
Good day, I would like to add some servers to Azure Arc in an automated way. However, one of the requirements is that people can connect via AADSSH. Therefore, as the title says, I am trying to add the extension: AADSSHLogin via the AZ client. However, I can't find any documentation on how to do this. Can anyone help me? Or are there other solutions than via the portal?KoenigConstantinJun 26, 2023Copper Contributor2.1KViews0likes8CommentsAzure Update Manager - dynamic scope not adding the machines
Hello, I am trying to create a maintenance configuration to distribute the Definition Updates to a bunch of machines but when I use a dynamic scope to get the machines, the configuration is never applied to the machines. Example : I create a dynamic scope and it returns a list of machines : But when I look in Manage - Machines, the associated schedules stays empty : On the other hand, if I had the machines in the configuration, then you can see the associated schedule : Now you can see the schedule : Is there something that I am missing ? Hi everyone, I have an issue with the following: If I create a new Resource Group from Azure Arc Deployment it will be created at default in East US and not where my server details will get saved. My configuration: And resource group looks like this: Is this by design to create resource group beforehand? My rollout of an Arc resource bridge fails at step 4/5, cannot create the custom location. Indeed if I go to Azure portal and look I see it but deployment failed. It looks like a have a bridge deployed and connected, just not completed. The only error I get is 'Unauthorized' which is strange because I am owner of the subscription and resource group. Also giving it admnistrator level privs for the vcenter cluster. Oddly enough if I delete the custom location in portal I also get an failure of unauthorized, but the custom location is still deleted.hwallisctJun 24, 2022Copper Contributor2.1KViews1like5CommentsAzure Arc - State Configuration (DSC)
Please confirm my understanding, onboarding an on-prem server to Azure Arc does not automatically enable State Configuration? Additional steps are required to onboard the Azure Arc node for state configuration (DSC) in an automation account. If this is the case then the creation of an automation account, onboarding the on-prem server to state configuration and deploying the connected machine agent (Azure Arc) may be preferable to reduce the number of times the on-prem server needs to be configured interactively or via PowerShell (either local or remote)?SolvedPaul BendallJul 22, 2021Iron Contributor5.4KViews2likes5Comments- Aaida_AboobakkarFeb 10, 2025Microsoft144Views1like4Comments
Azure Arc and Azure update manager
Hi Wondered if anything can help. I use Azure Update manager to patch my on-prem Windows servers. Recently several of them have starting failing, cant patch or do an assessment on them. They fail with the error "not able to run in specified time" The VMs are definitely connected as I can see them online and heartbeat is active. The only thing I can spot in the activity log for one of the failing VMs is the "Read Azure Arc extensions" has been running for a long time and never seems to complete (See below). I guessing this is why the patching is failing as its queued up before this. I've tried to remove the azure arc agent and re-install but this always comes back. Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this?SolvedJoshB531Jun 20, 2024Brass Contributor1.3KViews0likes4CommentsError when trying to onboard Azure Arc in Windows Admin Center 2110.1
How is the state of the Azure Arc plugin, so the onboarding via WAC will be possible again? Since months it errors out with a weird message that a string is too long. I'm new to Azure Arc but enjoying what I'm learning and the potential to solve customer problems. An element I can't work out is the preferred way to scope Arc Enabled Servers at scale for Update Deployment. The blogs I've read and the jumpstart both discuss the addition of each Arc enabled server under "Machines to Update" but that doesn't seem very dynamic. For a scale solution, I'd expect to be able to use some form of Grouping, but I can't work out how to configure this option for Arc Enabled Servers.SolvedPaul BendallJul 05, 2021Iron Contributor3.8KViews1like4Comments
