M365 Business and Conditional Access
M365 Business does not include the ability to create conditional access rules. We are wondering if there was any specific reasons it was not included such as cost, complexity or MS felt for SMBs the risk was not the same. The price point of this product, $20/seat, is perfect so I would not want to see it go up but having 2-3 basic conditional access rules available would be ideal. These might be allow only authenticated devices, allow only from within North America and allow only from listed IP address ranges. Mark Benton
Microsoft 365 Business need RDS and Shared Computer Activation
We’ve sold about 150 Microsoft 365 Business licenses already… and I went to provision 28 users of M365B for a customer and had to abort and put them back on Office 365 Enterprise E3. Turns out M365B doesn’t support Shared Computer Activation which is used for many of our RDS customers. Looks like these M365B plans do not support shared computer activation (ie office apps on the remote desktop server). Can you please include in M365B the missing features that are contained with Office 365 Enterprise E3 on this attached list.. Especially Shared Computer Activation. Thanks! How to replace Client Backup with Microsoft 365?
Microsoft 365 Business is recommended as a replacement for Client Backup removed from Windows 2019 Server https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server-essentials/get-started/what-s-new-19. I've not found any technical details regarding backup in Microsoft 365 Business. I need to backup 4-6 TB and 3 notebooks. I would like to know how backup and restore works with Microsoft 365. Thanks
Removing an Business Premium Azure account from a shared laptop
In the good old days, you'd use delprof.exe or delprof2.exe to delete unused user profiles from a laptop when using Active Directory accounts. So how do you do the same with Azure AD joined laptops? Sure, you can remove the user account from the Other users panel in settings but that does not delete the profile folder in C:\Users: This is the folder after removing that account: And the registry is still full of the account's settings.
Can't activation Windows 10 Home to Pro Upgrade for Microsoft 365 Business Cloud Solution Provider
I have a product Windows 10 Home to Pro Upgrade for Microsoft 365 Business Cloud Solution Provider but i can't use. Office 365 Advanced Message Encryption included in M365 Business?
Hello, I have a case open with support and they are stumped. I am trying to create a custom branded encryption template but the necessary powershell command (New-OMEConfiguration) is not available. Set/Get work just fine. It appears that in order to do this, we need to have O365 Advanced Message Encryption. Encrypting emails (OME) works fine with M365 Business but I'm now wondering if it doesn't have the advanced capabilities included. Can anyone on the M365B team please confirm? Set Up New Laptop with M365
Hi all Forgive me for asking a noddy question, as I'm not a skilled admin. I run a small business and have hired my first employee. I'm using M365 with standard policy settings applied. In truth, I haven't learned all the bells and whistles yet, but I like the ability to remote lock and wipe, apply information protection etc. When setting up Win 10 for my new employee, I'm being asked to authenticate with a mobile (which I've yet to provide to the employee), to set a PIN number and then set a password for Bitlocker (as I like to apply FDE on laptops). Is there a way I can link his laptop to my 365 environment, download office for him and set up files shares but then require him to set up the end factor for authentication, his preferred PIN and his preferred password for Bitlocker? At present I'd be setting it all up with a PIN and passwords I choose and then getting him to change them later. I'm assuming there must be a more elegant way to handle this using M365 tools that I've not mastered yet? Thanks for your help in advance! SeanLighthouse setup
I've just added lighthouse, logged into our partner tenant but get the following error. Is it a matter of waiting or do I need to assign permissions to users, such as global admins and client admins? Access restriction Insufficient or lack of permissions is causing access restriction.
Project definition, planning and tracking in 365
Hi there I created quite a long post on the above subject in the tech community and received no response. I have a strong background in projects so I know exactly what I want, I'm trying to exploit MS Planner, and likely lists and forms to the max. I want to build out simple projects based on deliverables, decompose then into tasks, show dependencies and track the tasks once allocated. So network view for deliverables and Board (Kanban) view for tasks are 'must haves' This is for a small business. I have used MS Project extensively but don't want to use that (GANTT view not required). Where do I start, how far can I get 365 and perhaps cloud VISIO to realise mu project vision? Any comments or thoughts are most welcome! Thanks Niall
