The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust..
We have a single Site single Domain (xyz.com) which contain following 3 Domain Controllers: 1- DC1 (PDC, windows server 2012 R2, a hyper-v virtual server) 2- DC2 (Secondary DC, windows server Ent 2008 sp2, physical server) 3- DC3 (Secondary DC, windows server Ent 2008 sp2, a vmware virtual server) Problem: The error message "The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship" is coming while end users attempting to change their password who are controlled by a domain password policy. Action Taken: 1 When i chech the computer account, i found following result: C:\Windows\system32> NETDOM VERIFY computer_name The secure channel from computer_name to the domain XYZ has been verified. The connection is with the machine \\DC3.xyz.com 2 Then i do force to RESET the secure channel to DC1: C:\Windows\system32> NETDOM RESET computer_name /domain:xyz /server:DC1 3 After restart the computer, user able to change without any error message!!! Now My Question is: Why the error message "The security database on the server does not have a computer account for this workstation trust relationship" appear while those computer's secure channel is connected to DC2/DC3 only? Why those client computer's Secure Channel is automatically registered to either DC2 or DC3?1.7MViews2likes19CommentsWindows Server 2022 Product Key

I have configured GPO to Set time limit for active but idle Remote Desktop Services sessions. Policy has been set to disconnect sessions which are idle for more than 3 hours. But I am getting warning after 30 minutes itself. This GPO has been applied at OU level. Issue occurs only with Windows 2019 servers. Session time limits on Windows 2016 servers which are in the same OU works well. I ran gpresult /h on the affected servers. I could see session time limit policy is applied properly still sessions are getting disconnected after 30 minutes. Anyone came across this issue? Hello, Doing some searches on the web, it's not clear if there is an upgrade path from 2012R2 to 2022 Windows Server. From the link, I was wondering if there is an upgraded diagram, or if Microsoft has a recommendation on the path forward for this route? Is this upgrade not supported, and we should opt to then do a clean install? https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/upgrade/upgrade-overview Thank youSolved276KViews1like24CommentsServer 2019 Volume licensing activation key not working
I have a server that I am trying to install Server 2019 Standard. The Volume Licensing activation key is not working. The product was downloaded from the Volume Licensing portal along with the license key. The activation pane shows a product ID, and on the product key space the last (5) digits are already populated. The server had a previous Server 2016 evaluation running on it before it was reformatted before attempting to install Server 2019.Solved207KViews3likes28CommentsI can't Turn on network discovery

Hello, I'm using Windows Server 2022 and I have this problem: data retrieval on Server Manager. Is there a fix for this issue? Obs: - this is a test lab - all servers are domain members - I'm connecting on all servers with the domain Administrator account. - tested with both Firewall on and off - do NOT recommend this workaround: delete/rename the registry keys HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT\Channels\xxx Thank you.Solved206KViews2likes92CommentsWindows Server 2019 Build 17623 SMB1 does no more exists?

Announcing Windows Server Preview Build 26257 Hello Windows Server Insiders! Today we are pleased to release a new build of the next Windows Server Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) Preview that contains both the Desktop Experience and Server Core installation options for Datacenter and Standard editions, Annual Channel for Container Host and Azure Edition (for VM evaluation only). Branding has been updated for the upcoming release, Windows Server 2025, in this preview - when reporting issues please refer to Windows Server 2025 preview. If you signed up for Server Flighting, you should receive this new build automatically. What's New Windows Admin Center (WAC) Beginning with build 26252, Windows Server 2025 preview customers can download and install Windows Admin Center right from the Windows Server Desktop using the in-OS app that takes care of downloading and guides you through the installation process. Note: You must be running a desktop version of Windows Server 2025 Datacenter or Standard preview to access this feature. Delegated Managed Service Accounts (dMSA) A new account type known as delegated Managed Service Account (dMSA) is now available that allows migration from a traditional service account to a machine account with managed and fully randomized keys, while disabling original service account passwords. Authentication for dMSA is linked to the device identity, which means that only specified machine identities mapped in AD can access the account. Using dMSA helps to prevent harvesting credentials using a compromised account (kerberoasting), which is a common issue with traditional service accounts. To learn more about dMSA, visit https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/security/delegated-managed-service-accounts/delegated-managed-service-accounts-overview. Windows Server Flighting is here!! If you signed up for Server Flighting, you should receive this new build automatically later today. However, when selected, the package installed is the Windows Server update. Please ignore the label and proceed with installing your flight. This issue will be addressed in a future release. Setup: Some users may experience overlapping rectangle voids following mouse clicks during "OOBE" setup. This is a graphics rendering issue and will not prevent setup from completing. This issue will be addressed in a future release. WinPE - Powershell Scripts: Applying the WinPE-Powershell optional component does not properly install Powershell in WinPE. As a result, Powershell cmdlets will fail. Customers who are dependent on Powershell in WinPE should not use this build. If you are validating upgrades from Windows Server 2019 or 2022, we do not recommend that you use this build as intermittent upgrade failures have been identified for this build. Hi I'm trying to reduce the amount of drive space taken up by Windows on my servers C Drive - currently the entire drive is taking up 28GB of a 30GB drive... I've used the disk clean up tool that ships with Windows but it didn't identify anything that could be removed (really!)... The Windows Directory is taking up 17.5GB of the 30GB drive so a big chunk. I've seen that you can reduce the size of the WinSxS directory within Windows which is currently taking up about 8GB, and this director (given it's size) seems a likely candidate for size reduction. I found this tool - but it is not compatible (won't install stating incompatible) - see: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2852386/disk-cleanup-wizard-addon-lets-users-delete-outdated-windows-updates-o Perhaps there's another tool I can use? Alternatively - perhaps there is something else I can do to reduce the data on my drive...? I'm working an a Windows 2012 R2 Server running off an EC2 Instance on AWS. Any help most appreciated? Thanks Mark189KViews0likes3CommentsRSAT missing DNS Server Tools?

Hi all. I have a Windows Server 2019 VM (HyperV) where I setup my first DC. I also setup DNS and DHCP on the server. After deploying these, the yellow warning icon appeared on the network icon in the bottom right corner, and it says "No internet access". Indeed, Internet access seems to be working normally. The only issue is the DNS sometimes unable to resolve certain random domains. It seems that unbinding IPv6 from the NIC almost solved this issue, but the warning icon and the No Internet message remains. I tried the troubleshooting tool. It is unable to diagnose the issue, and suggests a network reset. I did it twice, but it did not change anything. I took a dump of the network packets when the diagnostic tool is run, but I see nothing unusual. It finally connects to http://www.microsoft.com:80/ which I think is the normal way to determine if Internet is available. The server responds 200 Ok and some codes. I don't know where to look further.
