Problem when entering fullscreen mode on YouTube
From many days I am seeing that sometimes when I try to enter fullscreen mode on YouTube, a weird thing occurs, the browser does not go to fullscreen mode, stays in windowed mode and the video shows a very weird resolution which appears to be a square on the screen.
I have also sent feedback about this issue through the in-app feedback tool (Alt+Shift+I) in Microsoft Edge.
- MahamKaliBrass ContributorI don't know is this problem solved or not but I'm facing this problem recently.
I'm using Microsoft Edge Version 92.0.878.0 (Official build) dev (64-bit).
When I'm watching YouTube videos in full screen it is suddenly freezing and browser become non-responsive. I've to use Task Manager to close the browser.
This problem started from the recent edge dev updates and YouTube homepage also showing different by blank box on the first row video thumbnail.
Hope this fix in the next update.
Thank You.- DiogoSousaIron Contributor
Hi MahamKali ,
I'm on 92.0.873.1 and for the moment I'm having no issues.
I had that kind of behavior with 91.x
- Mordi1984Copper ContributorI´am on Version 90.0.818.56 (Offizielles Build) (64-Bit) and my YouTube crashes on fullscreen too! Now i need to watch YouTube on Google Chrome.
- Yonka2019Copper Contributorthe bug have not been fixed yet.
But I found a "solution" for this,
when the bug appears press F5 to restart the video, the bug fixes himself - juhua

TheShaunSaw This issue is appeared again on my Surface Pro 7 i7 Edge Dev 86.0.622.3!!!!! Please fix it!
- DiogoSousaIron ContributorNot on my Surface Pro 3 with the same build.
- PhanTOMMMCopper ContributorStill getting this bug, doesn't happen only on Youtube but with any fullscreen video.
Problem is usually fixed by refreshing the page.
On Netflix video goes fullscreen but is choppy until a refresh and is then fixed.- DiogoSousaIron ContributorCan confirm that this still happens with my Surface Pro 3 with 86.0.587.0 build

Deleted 🔥I completely reset the Edge Dev on my computer by deleting the User Data folder, and kept it as the latest version, and disabled all extensions.
Trying again, I found that YouTube videos still have this problem, which is very confusing. 🚀https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khuxxP0owkw

Just updated Edge to 85.0.564.17 and not yet corrected.
Still only happens with Surface Pro 3 for me.
Let's hope for the next build 🙂

TheShaunSaw I didn't encountered that problem, It's working fine for me on Version 84.0.522.40 (Official build) (64-bit) having enabled the hardware acceleration also, maybe it's related to your laptop or You Tube itself
- DiogoSousaIron ContributorIn fact this happens with my Surface Pro 3 and not with my Lenovo L480!
