'Copy Link' for Folder/Files does not work in Teams
When you access a document library using the website/SharePoint tab and click on 'copy Link' the dialog opens up and has a spinning circle constantly, doesn't load.
Great
It works for me as well!!!
Strange thing is mine updated 8th of june but only today it workedYesterday I thought, how can this still be possible as I had this issue for a very long period of time
(opening the Team in SharePoint the copy link always did work as workaround)
but happy now 🙂

It started to work after my update from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Now it stopped again. It is extremely annoying. Teams ver: 1.5.00.5967. Workarounds (clearing cache, reinstallation, logout/login) don't help. Could anyone help me? It freezes and link isn't generated.

I was able to find a workaround for those still experiencing an issue. Simply open the document in SharePoint by selecting the radio button in front of the document, and clicking Open in SharePoint. I was able to copy the link through SharePoint.

Hi tclark_mpg
Do you possibly have any update on this matter as I am still affected by this issue. I am currently using the workaround of opening SharePoint Online and copying the link from there but would really love for this to be resolved.- tclark_mpgCopper ContributorLatest update from o365 admin portal

More info: The affected "Copy link" option can be found in the Files tab within channels.
As an alternative, users can use the Microsoft Teams web app.

tclark_mpg That looks somewhat promising! Is there a roadmap or support number tied to that thread that we can follow to get updates directly?
- tclark_mpgCopper ContributorI get the updates from the advisory dashboard in O365 admin portal.

- ddemickCopper ContributorSimilar issue but with a new twist. For Months I've gotten the blank popup box with the eternal spinning wheel. Now all the sudden the "Copy Link" button is completely non-responsive. Click it and get NOTHING. Same behavior on different systems and with different users.

Had the same issue for months and just randomly started working for me few days ago...

+1 to this issue.
Clearing cache and all that does not help at all. BUT I use the sharepoint web interface now - this works fine. - Riczi0815Copper ContributorI found it may help to delete the folder "%appdata%\Microsoft\Teams" in order to rebuild the cash.
No guarantee if this helps for others like it did for me. - daveb2Copper Contributor
Henry Edwards Me Too! This has been a problem for over a month, although it has worked intermittently in the past week or so (though not working now). Very frustrating.

Us too. Our whole organization is down. Sharepoint workaround works for some and not others and I'm not equipped to troubleshoot sharepoint independently from Teams. Please fix this microsoft.
- EricSpletzerCopper ContributorAnd the COPY LINK works fine from an Edge (Beta) browser. Just not the Teams App.
- Riczi0815Copper ContributorSame problem here...

@Ugh. Yes, same problem. I think I've been through every solution in this thread (thank you all SO much for your postings!) but no joy yet.
I've gotta walk away for 2 weeks to get over the frustration then I'll attack again!
- --AndyCopper Contributor#metoo ... this is really annoying.
Does anyone know what the Teams App actually does in the background? What's the rocket science here?
