"You might not see everyone's video" - can I suppress this?
Recently (this week), I started getting this pop-up every time I join a Teams meeting:
"You might not see everyone's video. The device you're using can only show a limited number of videos at this time."
This using Teams 25017.203.3370.1174 on Windows 11 on a Surface Pro 6 (Core i7 w/16gb RAM). I've been using Teams on this Surface for years and have not had any issues with video. And I'm not seeing any new issues with video so not sure why I keep getting this message.
I have to click to close it every time I join a meeting. Is there a way to suppress this or turn it off?
Try this. Fire-up a new meeting in Teams. Go to the VIEW button on the top panel. Go to SELECT MAX GALLERY SIZE in the dropdown menu. Some of the available entries might have a warning icon next to them. Make sure you've selected an option without that warning icon. Teams remembers from one meeting to the next. Whatever you select here should continue for future meetings. HTH.
Thanks for the tip. But in my case, I'm already set to one of the "valid" options.
Yea I already have this set to 16 people. But, no matter what the setting, I still get that pop up message and only see 8 or 9 video streams at a time. All members have active cameras, but as another member speaks... their camera stream appears and another goes away to take its place.
At this point I even cleared my cache and reinstalled Teams and have not seen a change. What's interesting is, on my old Dell laptop that has nowhere near the power my Desktop has... all videos stream without issue or warning message.
I'm experiencing the same thing. My desktop computer is running Win 11 with i7, Intel HD Graphics 630, 32 GB RAM, a Logitech C920 camera and Teams 25017.203.3370.1174.
I've been in meetings of up to 20 people and experiencing no problems at all. This warning shows up when I start a video or Teams phone call.
I am having the same issue that recently started as well. I'm using an older Surface laptop, but it has been running teams for years without issue, and from the looks of these responses, hardware does not seem to be a factor, and my internet connection is solid. I am also using the most current version.
You have Microsoft Teams version 25017.203.3370.1174. You've got the latest version. It was last checked on 2/21/2025.
Hopefully, someone will be able to address it sooner than later.

We have users on PC / MacBook who have been seeing this for the past few days. I assume that as more people become irritated with this, Microsoft will address it... in a year or two.
I'm getting this as well. Same version of Teams running Windows 11 on a desktop with i7 with 32GB of ram and a modern nvidia graphics card.
I keep reading about disabling GUP acceleration but there doesn't appear to be a way to do it in this version of Teams nowadays. Very frustrating.

That doesn't apply in the latest version. That was one of the first places I looked.
Unless... does anyone know if there's a way to disable it in 25017.203.3370.1174?
