@email address removed for privacy reasons Its still not working July 29 2024. I had to get it because I couldn't get gmail to work on my old version only to discover it won't open if offline even though offline mode is selected.
how could a company as big as Microsoft make such a hash of software implementation!
Teresa_Cyrusand bobwdennis I can see why they didn't release it sooner. It doesn't work. A smart move. However, I'm not sure if releasing broken functionality eight months later then promised is particularly smart.
Feels like there is something seriously wrong with this software. I wonder when they'll stop digging. The years are ticking by...
Corwen I tried the New Outlook today as well.
I guess you got this error message when you tried to start Outlook while you were offline:
On the Switch from working offline to online - Microsoft Support page there is a notice stating that Outlook must be running before you go offline.
At this time, to open or restart new Outlook, you need a connection to the internet. Offline access described in this article is only supported when the app is already running and then goes offline. Opening and restarting the app while offline is planned and will be available in a future update.
It works this way indeed. Is it good enough? I say no...
- I did! Teresa_Cyrus has a great video on YouTube explaining the limitations, so I was expecting it. But I've also found that I can only sync one account for offline use. - even if I select multiple accounts in the settings menu for offline use.
Microsoft recently became aware of multiple account Offline issues. They are working on a fix.
I will update this thread once I learn more.
