SharePoint List Titles not showing
Hi all!
I'm having an issue where when I am creating new items in my list, the title section is not showing. It is not even an option for me to check when I try to edit the form itself. I have confirmed that the title column is mandatory however it still isn't show.

I had the same thing happen after copying a list on the same site. Here's I fixed mine:
- Enable Allow management of content types.
- Open the Item content type for editing.
- If you don't see Title in the column listing, click Add from existing to navigate to the Add Columns screen.
- In my case, Title was the only column showing in the list. Select it, Add, then OK.
- While still in the List Content Type screen, edit the column order to place Title at the top where it belongs.
- You should now be able to disable management of content types and test the form.
- If Title is already showing in the column listing for the content type, you could try clicking it to open, then ensure it's not hidden.

The Content type doesn't seem to be the same problem I am having, as I have the setting below as No (See below), and the Title is showing on the Form, it is just not editable (as shown by the red arrow in the screenshot I shared earlier pointing to Test which was the Title assignment I made in the Grid view).

Sorry for the late response but I was able to find what was wrong. I had "Allow Management of Content" enabled which created a separate view that didnt show the field. Once i turned it off, it was no longer an issue. - juliovivascamargoCopper Contributor
Hi, everyone. I have the same issue with a sharepoint list that I created by importing a CSV with headers file. Don't show the field Title in "Add New Item" View or "Edit" View either. The Title Field can only edited with "Edit in grid view".

I have the exact same issue with my Sharepoint lists - The Title is not showing up in the Default form to enter or edit. Only way to assign or change it is via the editable grid list view and when populated via Grid View the Title is shown READ ONLY in the header of the Edit form.

Hello dchenhero ,
Could you please navigate to list settings and take a screenshot of your content type, or if you have multiple content types?
