- Martin_KrasBrass ContributorIs it visible within a document that Copilot has produced the content? For example as document property?

Microsoft
For the majority of applications of Copilot we do not explicitly show where Copilot was used. The reason is we believe the users still own their output in the same way they always have. Explicitly calling out access to Copilot takes some of this ownership away from the user. Additionally, Copilot can be invoked in ways where it's actually quite hard to decide whether Copilot "produced" something (e.g. I can ask ito to offer a suggestion for how to rewrite a paragraph in Word, can use some of it's suggestions but not the wholesale suggestion -- does this mean it was created by Copilot?). The one place where this isn't the case is with Copilot in Loop. The difference here is that these capabilities are explicitly built to support interactive, collaborative work. In this case, Copilot is acting closer to an independent thought partner, so we've made the determination it's helpful to call that out.
- Fabian_KasparOccasional ReaderHi, currently we face issues that we need to assign the e3/e5 extra licensing feature, otherwise the user will not receive BCE. So i need to enable all extra feature to get BCE, there is no option to just license BCE on its own. I dont want to push all extra features, just BCE. Will that be possible? Second question: Some users face the issue that they get the safe search setting error that it needs to be changed, even though its already in moderate. My feeling is that its not stable. Sometimes thissafe search error comes and 2h later it works again with the same settings. Also this error appeared in strict and off for some users, so its not clear for me how to solve this issue.

Microsoft
Hi Fabian, thank you for bringing this up. First answer: We are working on the possibility of creating a long-term solution for the extra feature license issue. This would allow the IT admin to assign only BCE and not all of the extra features in the E3/E5 extra feature SKU. Second answer: The engineering team is aware of this issue and is currently working to provide a solution. If you have not submitted a support ticket yet about the second issue, could you DM me and I will help you to solve this issue.
- AshMSportCopper ContributorWill copilot be available in Power Virtual Agents within Teams?
- Ma-tthBrass ContributorIs my copilot trained on my Companies Data? If yes which data can be added to the training. Or is ist just general data?
- Yana Terukhova
Microsoft
Copilot is not trained on your data, but because it is using Microsoft Graph, it learns to understand your data better, as data being indexed. Copilot does not have fine-tuning capability. - Ken Ewert
Microsoft
For M365 Copilot, no customer data is used to train the models. M365 Copilot uses prompt generation and grounding data from your M365 tenant as the input to the model processing , allowing the responses to be based on your own data. There is no retention of your prompts or grounding data to retrain models.
- StuartCopper ContributorIs / will the enablement of the Semantic Index and MS Graph be optional, i.e. is there still benefits from Microsoft 365 Copilot without allowing access to internal data and would this be available at a lower cost?
- GabeHo
Microsoft
No, Semantic Index and the Microsoft Graph are part of the Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft 365 service and cannot be disabled. You can exclude content in SharePoint online and those exclusions will be honored by the Semantic Index for Copilot.
- JKing575Copper ContributorFor this to be as seamless as possible is it recommended to have end users signed into the Edge Browser? It appears when I go to the new Bing.com I am auto signed into it, just wondering if the signed into the browser plays into anything?
- JaredAndersen
Microsoft
If you are signed into Edge with AAD credentials you've established a work account in the browser that should also remember if you have previously signed into Bing.com with your AAD credentials. It's possible that you signed into Bing.com with AAD before and it's simply remembering that and triggering a login.
- surdavid168Occasional ReaderCan you describe how multiple tenancy is handled when customers are using the same underlying models for Co-pilot. Since the GPT models themselves require the prompts to be used as input that activates the layers to generate a response, how are these prompts and responses stored with respect to model use? Are they logged? How are these prompts and responses segregated between customers? Is there a dedicated instance of the model for each customer, or is the same model shared?
- Ken Ewert
Microsoft
For M365 Copilot, there is no bleeding of independent prompt/responses between tenant users. Each is an independent processing where prompts and groundings are gathered, submitted and results returned to the user. It is not "per model" based or anything like that. There will be some logging of prompts in some copilot clients in support of conversation continuity, allowing the user to turn the conversation to refine the last response received.
- troybarthCopper ContributorWhen will CoPilot officially launch to the public?
- Yana Terukhova
Microsoft
we have not announced the GA timeline yet, but stay tuned.
- Max_Li1009Copper ContributorWhat is the timing for M365 Copilot to go GA?
- Yana Terukhova
Microsoft
We have not announced GA date yet. Stay tuned.
- SDaurCopper ContributorFor security purposes: Preparing the onprem and azure environment for copilot, the rights and permissions etc. for the intern data have to be checked (so that copilot don't find data, which wasn't allowed for the user). Are there recommended tools etc. for analyzing this? And is it possible to limit/restrict the copilots from special sources?
- Yana Terukhova
Microsoft
Yes. Learn about some of the things your organization can do to detect and prevent oversharing in the new era in content management and security in SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams, watch this video, and read this article to get details on how to adopt content management best practices.
