I really need the dark mode on Bing, i'm sure a lot of people agree with me too. dark mode is very useful feature, lots of apps and websites have a dark mode by now. Bing for mobile has it, only the desktop version is missing it. is it on the roadmap? if not, why? and if it's coming, when can we expect that? thank youSolved7.6KViews12likes9CommentsI've been mainly using Bing engine for the past 3 months and this is my review
I've been mainly using Bing search engine in the last 3 months. this is my honest opinion. I enjoy Bing more than Google because Bing has a better layout, Bing has so much more features, like when I want to reverse image search, It shows me the name of the person in the picture or in cases where there is a text in the picture, it uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to let me copy the text from the pic and automatically search for it. Bing also gives me lots of categories in image searches. I did a side by side comparison of a subject just yesterday. in Google there was no categories to suggest but Bing suggested lots of categories at top, they were so specific that I was surprised how far it went. Bing has Microsoft Rewards and what it means is that you get points when you do normal searches, you don't need to go to Bing Rewards dashboard to do any additional tasks, but if you want you can and get even more points. These points accumulate and once they reach a certain amount, you can redeem them for a wide range of prizes. I usually redeem them monthly to get free Xbox game pass which I can use to play all news AAA games on PC and Xbox. so basically I always and forever have free game subscription. Bing is integrated into Cortana on Windows 10 which means I don't have to open a browser to type anything, I simply press Windows key and start typing and it shows me search results, when I click on a result, it opens it on the new Edge browser which is my default browser and it's also better than Google Chrome for a long list or reasons. (de-googled browser, Tracking Prevention, Collections, Reading view and all of its features, Read Aloud with custom natural voice etc etc..). Bing also gives me peace of mind knowing that my data and privacy is being handled by a company that revolves around providing services and not data mining. Bing search results, the default search, is also very relevant. at first I used to open a Google search and compared both results for a specific keyword because I was skeptical that I might be missing some results but nope, I was getting exactly the same relevant results. Bing also has rich snippets appearing in searches, like when I search for a specific subject, it tells me that hey you also searched about this related subject yesterday and many other little info. Bing's privacy dashboard is also very streamlined and easy to use. I like that it shows me all of the searched queries I've done from the beginning and allows me to delete them if I want to, but I personally like to keep them as a record. Bing Also has all of the features that Google offers, I know this because I've been using Google for a long time. Bing has really and i mean REALLY improved in the last few years and that's why I'm writing this because I'm simply impressed. this is my unbiased honest opinion about Bing. feel free to read or ignore it but if you read I hope you enjoy it. Have a nice day and stay safe! 😀5.4KViews8likes24CommentsThe only thing that keeps me from switching to Bing as my default and daily search engine is This.
Bing changes my safe search settings every time I connect to my VPN (another Country). Every single time. Google does Not do this. so it happens like this. at first I don't use VPN and I'm connected with my own IP address to the Internet, I do a search in Bing and from the side panel I see safe search is set to restricted, so I go to the settings and turn that thing off. after few minutes I connect my VPN, reopen my browser and do a search in Bing, I see the safe search setting is back to restricted/moderate. again I go to the Bing settings and turn it off. now I turn off my VPN and use my own IP again, reopen my browser, do a search in Bing and there it is. safe search is back to restricted again! this is beyond frustrating, words can't even describe it. I do love Bing and I hate to use Google knowing they are a data mining company. but things like that....LITTLE things like that, prevent me from using Bing. I have this problem with Bing on both mobile and PC. using Microsoft Edge browser. Bing should retain my preferences Either in the form of cookies or in my Account settings. when I explicitly set a specific country in Bing settings and then turn off safe search for it, it shouldn't be changed automatically, no matter what IP I use, because it's still MY Microsoft account, not somebody else's, I don't set the country to "Auto-detect" or anything like that and I don't want safe search preferences to be reset when my country changes/I use VPN. the problem with Bing is that Microsoft tied Safe search preference to country. that's so wrong. they are 2 different things.1.2KViews3likes0CommentsMajor annoyance - BING converts search links to BING.COM redirect links.
I don't know if there's any way around this but BING converts every search result URL into a BING.COM redirect URL. While this may seem like a good idea to Microsoft since it records click-throughs, it falls apart on direct linked documents such as PDF, images, etc. The redirect prevents you from actually copying the real link and pasting it elsewhere. For example, something as simple as xyz.com/mydoc.pdf turns into bing.com/search=?q=blahblahblahblah and on for 50+ more random characters. And you can't simply click on the link and get it from the address bar because Edge will open the document in whatever external program handles that document type (like Acrobat Reader or MS Excel). I do a fair amount of online research and this behavior is really annoying when I want to capture and reference a link directly to a document. Note that Google does NOT do this as it preserves the actual destination link in the search results. And some of the other search engines I've tried (eg Freespoke, DuckDuckGo) don't do it either.1.5KViews2likes1CommentBing Chat for Educators – a new Professional Development course on Microsoft Learn

Is it possible to show floor plan locations for a user in their Outlook / Teams card like how it shows when you look up the user via Microsoft Search? Below you can see a test user with office location B1/1002. You can't click on it to get more details. However on MS Search (Bing) you can click on the office location to get where it is on the map: Is there any way to extend this functionality to Outlook/Teams? Especially in regards to scheduling meetings, being able to see the floor plan location for a specific conference room account when booking.1.7KViews2likes0CommentsWebsite not indexed in bing web master tools
My website is not indexed on Bing and I've been not getting any search clicks a day from Bing. Recently I stop getting traffic from Bing. I check that my pages are not indexed using the URL inspection tool. But when I check using site: (link removed by moderator) to check it shows some results have been removed. I did the same with some other URLs of my website and it's still the same. What could be the problem? Website is indexed but not showing on Bing's search result.1.7KViews2likes3CommentsMake Bing Updates and MSN feed consistent and preferably Merge them
MSN Feed: https://www.msn.com/en-us/feed/ Bing Updates: https://www.bing.com/updates There are more categories in MSN feed than Bing updates, there are also more actions and the post blocks look better. I think these 2 need to merge and be unified, to have the same experience. I personally prefer MSN feed, it looks much better and modern, more options, has reactions etc.1.1KViews2likes2Comments
