Would anyone in this forum find it useful to be able to type a message in Teams (either 1:1 chat or a team thread), hit enter, and have that message not sent until the recipient's status is available? Ideally, this would be an option for which we could set a default (either on or off) and then toggle it for an individual message with a keyboard shortcut depending upon the message's urgency. Hopefully, it would be handled at the cloud level (not the local level like in Outlook) so that it is not dependent on the sender's computer being awake when the recipient's status becomes available. There is an idea posted for this in a UserVoice forum, but it does not have many votes yet. https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/18874141-time-delay-post In my own organization, the people I most frequently need to ping spend much time in meetings or on client calls that I would rather not interrupt, but it hinders my productivity too much to keep checking on when they will be available. If I send a message during their meeting anyway, there is too great a chance they will miss it. If anyone else would find this useful, can you please make your voice heard?Solved42KViews27likes28CommentsAdd Group Chat As A Channel
Hi all, I am wondering if there is a way to make a channel in a team that behaves the same as a group chat. I understand the advantages and disadvantages of conversations vs chats. Basically I like having conversation for work related things, the threads are good for organizations etc. At the same time I would prefer having a channel for general chit chat that behaves like a group chat (with the reply behavior of a chat and the general flow of a chat.) Yes I could just make a group chat that has the same members as my team but it is less comfortable to continuously go between the Teams tab and the Chats tab, and also inviting members to both the Group and the Chat can be annoying when there are many of them. Is there a way to do this that I missed?128KViews24likes38CommentsTeams screen sharing made easy across multiple users
A feature many can benefit from at the enterprise level is allowing multiple people to share screens and then allow the viewers to easily see what screen is selected. 1 person can drive and switch screens but when it switches its the user who's screen is sharing at that time. The issue we encounter is with our Scrum teams and Scrum Masters driving the screen but then we have product owners who regularly run the meetings as well. It is a pain to keep waiting for screens to stop sharing and the other person connecting. It takes time every time so we end up having 1 person drive the whole time but then our flow is a bit more choppy. I think about this as being in person and 1 person standing up to present and the other person having a comment or wanting to write something on the board or show something they can just get up and do it. I see this working in Teams virtually when multiple people are collaborating and have different tools they are using. Some on our calls are using Salesforce, Rally, SNOW, excel, power point, etc and trying to show all across multiple people who own each of those documents is a pain.Solved92KViews22likes14CommentsReaction's notification in the activity feed
We should not have to go to the activity feed to read the notification of a reaction we read in a conversation in the chat section. It feels like it has to be read twice to remove the notification of that reaction (in the chat section and the activity feed).12KViews12likes6CommentsSet your own Nickname on Teams
When I tag someone using @, Teams copy the person name in the post, right? But I know many people that don't like their name or their name is too long or super difficult to rear/pronounce or they like nicknames, like me 🙂 Then my idea why not let people set their nickname on Teams? then, when someone tags myself, for instance, it will not appear "Hey Francisco Mello" but "Hey Chico" 🙂 I TRULY BELIEVE THAT WILL BOOST PEOPLE COMMUNICATION AND INTERACTION!Solved56KViews10likes4CommentsTeams search changed, and is now useless
I don't know when this happened but search has changed in teams recently, and it's unbelievably useless. Searching within a single conversation isn't intuitive. Took me forever to figure out how that works. But the biggest problem is that now when I search it returns results and in the past when I'd click the item in the results list, it would take me to that point in time of the entire conversation. Now it just shows me the single message and I can't see the entire conversation surrounding it. Since the conversation was back in July, and this is a person I talk to all day every day scrolling back to that point in time would take a VERY long time. Basically we're encountering an issue in our development environment that happened previously and I fixed it back in July but it's happening again and I don't remember what we did to fix it. So I search for the term I need, get the messages around that time in July, and I see just that one message but I need to see the entire conversation. This is a terrible change that wasn't thought through. How can I get it to rewind to that point in time without having to scroll up for 20 minutes?22KViews9likes21CommentsAbility to take Personal Notes on Interactions in TEAMS
I have a lot of situations where I would like to take and keep personal notes associated to a specific TEAMS interactions. I don't want to have to keep my notes in a separate place like OneNote or Outlook. Hi there, I'm wondering if I use correctly MS Team. My comprehension is, Team is for collaboration. But my Chats section is a real mess. We have many Team channels, including all the correct people, files, shares, meeting notes, etc.... but it seems that is impossible to have a Chat session (not discussions) with the members of a Team Channel. Hi can we do this? I mean, instead, to create a private chat session + a team channel with the same users, I guess it's already possible to do not duplicate the different entry points to the same topic of a discussion which is a Team Channel (Équipes en français ;)) Or could we insulate one team channel discussion into one separate section/windows/environment instead of having them into the same Windows "raisin bread 😂🤣"? It is painful to do back and forth to find a piece of information in the Chats and/or in the discussions... Probably I/we don't use MS Team as it should be ... I don't know, I'm open to anything 😊 Regards to all and thank you for your answers Martin L.5.6KViews7likes1CommentTeams Enhancement Request: Add ability to paste as plain text
In a chat, please add the ability to right click paste as plain text. Currently, when I right click I am only seeing cut, copy and paste. The current paste keeps all formatting. I would like to see cut, copy, paste, and paste as plain text.4.8KViews7likes1Comment
