There is a serious bug in the 32-bit kernel releases (x86) of Windows 10 22H2 (though older versions, such as 21H2 or 21H1 may also be affected; I have not tested). I was doing some test-installs of the latest 22H2 release, using install-media built from the Media Creation Tool. (The version that this tool creates is currently Build 19045.2006). To reproduce this bug, do the following: 1 Install the x86 version of Windows 10 Version 22H2 onto a PC, or inside a VM (e.g. Home or Pro) 2 After the Desktop appears, go to Start > Settings > Apps > Optional Features 3 Click "Windows Fax & Scan" in the list, then the "Uninstall" button 4 After the uninstall is finished, and "Reboot required" appears, restart the PC or VM session 5 During the next boot-up, it will first go to this screen briefly: "Updating your system 0%" But will then go to a blue-screen with this error: Stop code: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED What failed: NTFS.SYS 6 After a reboot, the blue-screen will appear again, then after the next reboot Windows will go to the "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen 7 The only way to repair the Windows install is to use a System Restore point, should one exist I have been able to replicate this issue on ALL x86 kernel installs of Windows 10 22H2 I have tested, but the 64-bit (x64, AMD64) kernel versions are unaffected. I have no ARM devices to test. Needless to say, this should be treated as critical as this is easily reproduceable, and uses only built-in options supplied with Windows, but leaves systems completely unbootable afterwards. I am on the beta channel of the Windows Insider Program for Windows 11 update but for the past 2 weeks, I have been facing issues with the start menu and settings. They don't open at all, I tried opening settings with CMD but I get "File system error(-805306367)". I did try reverting back updates using Advanced Startup Options Menu in Windows 11 but got another error. Couldn't find any other way to fix this. Need help ASAP. For example, when user types "epn" instead of "vpn", show the VPN settings instead of "Nothing found" the search should be smart enough so a single letter typo won't disrupt it. or "fnt setting" instead of "font setting", Windows should know and suggest "font setting" even if a single letter was omitted from search query. it should be smart. Currently after we install Windows, we have to go to settings and change PC name and then perform another restart. so if Windows would let user choose a custom PC/device name, instead of randomly generating one, it would be more convenient. Control panel has URLs: Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center the new Microsoft Edge Settings has URL: edge://settings/content/cookies they make life so much easier when user just wants to go straight to a settings page and modify an option, instead of going through each previous step or using search. this also comes a lot handy when helping someone else or explaining them where to go in the Settings to do what. in Windows settings, there is no such thing, so we have to do extra work every time and when helping others to go to a specific option, we should manually write it down, like Windows settings => system => keyboard => and so on Feedback hub link: https://aka.ms/AAaqfkj1.3KViews0likes3CommentsRemove the solid color square block from App icons in Windows settings => Apps
Remove the solid color square block from App icons in Windows settings => Apps to make the design consistent You've removed the solid color square from Appl icons in the start menu, now they have a nice trimmed look that are modern. but in Windows settings, app icons still have their solid color square, it makes things inconsistent and ugly.
