Hello Everyone, While installing Microsoft Teams, the error message described in the subject line is thrown. Am running Microsoft Windows Version - 1909 A couple of troubleshooting tips found on https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/MicrosoftTeams/troubleshoot-installation have been tried but the error still shows up. Any idea on how to resolve this issue will be greatly appreciated. UPDATES I did a comparison of 2 SquirrelSetup.log files. (Both PC runs Windows 1909 and the same build number. The PC 1(Throwing up the JavaScript error above)logged some issues not found in the PC 2 as shown below: ----start---- ApplyReleasesImpl: Couldn't run Squirrel hook, continuing: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\current\Teams.exe: System.OperationCanceledException: The operation was canceled. at System.Threading.CancellationToken.ThrowOperationCanceledException() at Squirrel.Utility.<>c__DisplayClass11_0.<InvokeProcessAsync>b__0() at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.InnerInvoke() at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.Execute() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotificat ion(Task task) at Squirrel.Utility.<InvokeProcessAsync>d__11.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotificat ion(Task task) at Squirrel.UpdateManager.ApplyReleasesImpl.<>c__DisplayClass18_1.<<invokePostInsta ll>b__2>d.MoveNext() ---end---- FURTHER UPDATES Many suggestions found on GitHub, Microsoft support site, blogs and other websites have been tried. So after spending several hours googling and searching for a working solution, the following finally worked on the PC in question. A standard user account was created on the PC. Downloaded a new Microsoft teams app. In services.msc, the status of a service called Quality Windows Audio Video Experience was also manually started. Executed the app and no JavaScript error was thrown. N.B: I am still not satisfied with this fix, cos i applied the same troubleshooting approach on another PC throwing up the same JavaScript error, and the fix doesn't work on it. 🙂Solved201KViews1like11CommentsHow to use the new Resize function in Teams
Users is now able to reduce the main Teams window, the chat window, and the meeting stage to 360px wide or 502px wide, compared to the current minimum supported dimensions of 720px wide, with no loss of functionality. #Teams #MicrosoftTeams #Productivity #MPVbuzz #Microsoft36587Views0likes0CommentsMY FIX!! MS TEAMS says I'm offline when I'm connected to my network with no issues
My Teams on my laptop kept telling me I was "offline" even though I was connected with a strong signal to my wi-fi, I could browse the web with no issues, connected to VPN and (through VPN), I was RDP'd into servers for work. This was VERY frustrating as I had meetings to attend and I didn't want to do it on my phone. Plus not being able to communicate (messaging) over Teams. I tried SO many things: Logged out of Teams and logged back in Restarted Microsoft services I saw in services.msc Uninstalled/reinstalled Teams Disconnected and reconnected from my wi-fi I had recently changed my password so I cleared out my Microsoft credentials saved in my Credentials manager just to be safe Another reboot Know what FINALLY fixed it? Allowing the app in my Windows firewall... **BEFORE YOU READ THE REST, I wanted to share a fix that worked for another person (they commented below) - thank you biradarvenkat ** To resolve this issue, go to Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > ensure Automatically detect settings option is checked. Another comment with a fix that worked for IanJCI (thanks for sharing!!) Non of the other Fixes worked, but I disconnected from our corporate network, and connected using a new Internet connection not connected to our network. This changed my status to Online, and it has remained online when reconnecting to the corporate LAN As an Update, Every time I start the computer, Teams shows me offline and I have to unplug the LAN cable, change Internet connection for it to show me as available, then I change back to corporate LAN, and it stays showing available most of the day. If that didn't work for you - please try the steps below 🙂 I already saw a "teams.exe" app in the list of programs and made sure all instances were checked to be allowed through Public & Private but I figured I would navigate directly to the location that my Teams program had in it's properties So I right-clicked my Teams icon in my taskbar, when the window popped up, I selected Properties. I saw that it had the Target as: C:\Users\My Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\Update.exe In the Windows Firewall settings, I selected the option to Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall I selected the button at the bottom to Allow another app... The "Add an app" window appeared --> I selected the Browse... button next to the "Path" field In the Browse window, I navigated to the location that I grabbed from the TEAMS properties window earlier: C:\Users\My Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams Once I was in that folder, I double-clicked the Update.exe application and it appeared in my "Add an app" window as "Microsoft Teams" (of course!) I pressed the Add button at the bottom. After that, I was magically able to log into Teams with no issues!!! OMG what a relief! I am hoping to save someone else the headache I had figuring this out lol, it was a fun one!245KViews4likes16CommentsMissing Teams Chat
I have a user who is missing a Teams chat. They were invited to the meeting, but declined, but they still cannot view the chat from the meeting (which I believe they should). I have confirmed there are messages to view within the chat. We have tried: Clearing Teams cache Searching for the chat name but nothing is coming up. Any ideas how to pull this chat back for my user?39Views0likes2CommentsCQ - Powershell for Output

If exported on the File it is "System.Guid[]" How can the "System.Guid[]" be translated in a real Guid and not "System.Guid[]". Thanks for your answer JFM_12Solved63Views0likes4CommentsShouldn't my status be available unless I joined the meeting?
I have a 2 hour daily recurring meeting and most of time I don't attend it. Yet my status shows as busy (red) to everyone for the full 2 hours everyday. Is there a setting to show I am available unless I joined the meeting? If it's not available, I suggest that this be a feature or a user setting.14Views0likes1CommentMicrosoft account, outlook, teams and gmail

Hi team, Just wondering if there is a way to get Teams analytics on a custom dates range? I know we can get trends currently for 7, 30, 90 or 180 days. But I would like to generate a report for a particular time period, for example: for the Month of December (31 days). Is there a way to action this ? Thanks1.2KViews1like3CommentsCan I restrict certain Team Members to be 'Read Only' for files, whilst being able to access Posts?
Hi, Any advice would be much appreciated on this as I've been going round in circles and I don't know how best to resolve it, or if there's another way around it. Essentially what I am wanting is to be able to add someone within my organisation as a member of a Team (members have edit access by default, as most people require this) but, rather than them being a full member, I just want them to have read only access to the files area. So we would almost like to have - Team Owners (can do everything) Team Members (edit access) Guests (can see posts but read only access to files) When adding someone via Teams we only have the Owner / Member choice, with no way to restrict in in finer detail on a per-person basis. I have tried using Sharepoint permissions to drill into the 'Members' group but - as they were added via Teams - it groups them together as a 365 managed group and doesn't let me amend individual user permissions. Is there a clever way to do this? Or a different way of adding people so that they can both have read-only access to files and also see the posts area? Many thanks in advance!79Views0likes1CommentMore control with Teams chat notifications (Duration, marking as Read)
Currently in Teams it shows you if you have unread chats in your taskbar notification icon (small red bell). But to mark that notification as read you have to open up Teams and then highlight the conversation to mark it as 'Read'. Does anyone know if there is a way, or given thought to building a way, to have more control over the notification pop-up that would allow you to control how long the notification displays when a new chat is received and to also add a button that would allow you to mark the chat as read rather than opening the entire Teams application? I'm not seeing this ability in either the "Teams built-in" or "Windows" notification styles.' Thank you for your consideration! Chris2.8KViews3likes2Comments
