Workspaces you can create multiple Workspaces in Edge, have tabs in each of them, and when you close all Edge windows and open Edge again, you still have your workspaces, it's like a combination of tabs set aside + tab groups + pinned tabs experimental feature in canary, probably CFR. works really well so far57KViews25likes95Comments{Question / Suggestion} - Is there a way to email files or links directly from Teams?
Hello! I am wondering if there is a way from the Teams desktop app to select a file and either email the link, or a current copy of the file, directly to an email address? This could be useful for possibly keeping a dated log of progress by emailing current copies of the files stored on a weekly/monthly/whatever basis, Or to share files outside of teams more easily than downloading a copy of the file and then sending that out through Outlook. It seems like it would be an easy integration to the Office 365 email service, and would improve ease of use for several scenarios. If this already exists, please let me know where to find it! Otherwise, consider this a suggestion for a new feature. Thanks,32KViews1like5CommentsIntroducing Project Robin | New Feature
this one is a new flag you can enable: edge://flags/#edge-robin Microsoft Edge Version 91.0.852.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) I think, Project Robin is a way to show Windows Defender Application Guard windows as tabs, next to other regular tabs. because right now, when you open a new WDAG window, it has its own protected window, backed up by Windows Defender engine. this Project Robin might be a way to bring the 2 environments together in the same window. so far the feature doesn't seem to be fully implemented yet. when I try it, it takes me to https://dev.browse.trafficmanager.net/?header=0&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bing.com%2F&escape=newdomain&titlePrefix=0 and then nothing. it's exciting, waiting for future versions to see more changes.29KViews0likes4CommentsLive captions available in Microsoft Edge Picture-in-Picture mode
I tried it on this video that has captions available on YouTube and is in English, but it didn't work, so I'm not sure how and where it will appear, maybe not fully implemented in this build yet and will become usable in the future build. I'm also not sure whether this means Edge will just take the caption from a video like in YouTube and show it over the PiP, Or, it actually translates the voice of the video into captions and shows it to user which would be totally awesome (using speech to text capabilities). This is on Microsoft Edge Version 91.0.836.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) you need to enable these flags to get Global Media controls and PiP in them edge://flags/#global-media-controls edge://flags/#global-media-controls-picture-in-picture also if you don't have Live Captions feature, it's probably due to CFR28KViews2likes7Comments[Request] be able to restart Windows Sandbox | Persistent vs Temporary Sandbox
Windows Sandbox cannot be used for testing any software installation which requires a restart. This is one of its shortcomings, I think Microsoft should implement some kind of setting in future to allow a 'persistent' Sandbox besides the current temporary Sandbox. so like user will be asked before launching it that whether they want a Temporary or Persistent sandbox. Temporary = everything is wiped clean after closing. Persistent = everything will be there even after host device restart/shutdown or Windows sandbox (guest OS) restart.24KViews9likes2CommentsIntroducing Performance Mode in Microsoft Edge | New feature
Updates (Version 91.0.864.1 (Official build) canary (64-bit)): This mode helps optimize your browser’s performance by saving battery and minimizing resource usage (memory, CPU). Performance improvements might vary depending on your device specifications and individual browser habits. Details: Puts background tabs to sleep after 5 minutes of inactivity (if sleeping tabs is on). Timer will go back to its previous selection when you're not in performance mode. While we do our best to minimize impact to your experience, performance mode may cause: Videos to be less smooth Animations to slow down when you're not interacting with the browser Want to turn it on? make sure you are at least on Edge canary Version 91.0.856.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) currently a controlled feature rollout, but you can turn it on using this code at your own risk: --enable-features=msPerformanceModeToggle23KViews4likes10CommentsSay hello to the new Favorite Sidebar feature in the Edge browser
Microsoft Edge Version 87.0.654.0 (Official build) dev (64-bit) (This could be a controlled feature rollout meaning only available to a subset of insiders) this is the new view you get when you click on favorites button on Edge toolbar and once you click on that Pin icon, the sidebar will show up I love this mechanism and implementation, very neat and smart! thanks also the favorites menu no longer closes when you open favorite sites in new tabs, something I know a lot of people asked for.21KViews8likes37CommentsSet Aside Tab Feature | Collection Added to Edge insider Dev and Canary
Now you can Set your Tabs Aside Quickly and reopen them later. these tab groups Can get Synced with other devices that have Edge browser installed (Only desktops for now) so you can also resume your work from another computer. The tab groups that are set Aside are non-volatile, meaning they are not automatically deleted once you reopen them (unlike Edge legacy's behavior) you can give custom names to the tab groups you set Aside. Here is a 1080p 60FPS video to show you how easily it's done: https://streamable.com/uitriSolved19KViews14likes50Comments
