I've been testing and using this feature for as long as the new Edge has been around, without parallel downloading flag (edge://flags/#enable-parallel-downloading), the download speed is unbelievably slow, with the flag enabled, it's only slightly better. I don't know how many concurrent connections Edge makes to the download server with this flag on, but it's very broken. for example, download speed of a file in Edge is only 500 KB/s with parallel downloading on, with a download manager like Free Download Manager, the speed is 10x faster. I'm aware that this is depended on the network conditions of each user and my experience can't be universal and experienced by everyone, but the simply fact that a download manager with 6 to 8 concurrent (parallel) connections can fully utilize my Internet bandwidth, and Edge can't do this, is a problem. this is not something to be fixed with a simple browser reinstall or even related to OS. throughout the past 2 years I've done these countless times, literally. I'm sending feedback about it using the feedback button on Edge, if you're reading this and want download speed to be improved in Edge, please do the same and in the feedback URL add the link to this post for full description, thank you24KViews7likes10CommentsOptimizing Network Throughput on Azure M-series VMs
Tuning the network card interrupt configuration in Azure M-series VMs can substantially improve network throughput and lower CPU consumption. This blog discusses how to optimize Network Performance on Linux. The same concepts may also apply to Windows. SAP HCMT or other network test tools fail or produce lower than expected values.Windows 11: Show us a notification when built-in VPN in Windows 11 suddenly disconnects
it's important for security and privacy reasons, when the built in VPN connection in Windows 11 suddenly disconnects and its connection drops, we should receive a notification and be warned. right now, nothing happens and VPN silently disconnects without warning user. I'm getting mixed results when I set network throttling in Edge Version 84.0.488.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit) I can't be sure if it correctly means kilobits per second (kb/s) or kilobytes per second (KB/s). when I assume it to be (kb/s) and then multiply my desired download speed by 8 (to get the actual KB/s which is the unit that's used in real world) before entering in Edge, I see on the browser task manager that the tab I'm apply throttling to is exceeding the speed limit by a huge margin. so I need to be sure if it's just not a typo (kb/s instead of KB/s) and it actually is kilobits per seconds and I have to multiply my number by 8. is it possible that the network speed that I'm seeing in the browser task manager for a particular tab to also include the cache that browser loads from my computer?1.7KViews2likes0Comments
