Hi We are seeing a strange issue on a bunch of session hosts where user over certain apps cannot see the mouse pointer in their full screen AVD sessions. Session hosts are running Windows 10 22H2 up to date (well to February B week release); user client up to date, I am not aware we had user ever report this prior to completely rebuilding a new host pool last autumn for the AppReadiness crashing issues. From what we can tell this only seem to happen with Microsoft Excel, Word and the Outlook compose window, the mouse pointer basically becomes transparent as you can't see it so it makes it hard to select text or cells accurately. Clients are mostly a mix of HP and Lenovo PCs micro PCs running Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 11 23H2 Enterprise on Intel 8th to 12th Gen CPUs and AMD Ryzen Pro CPUs with integrated graphics. Does anyone else see this or any ideas what might be causing it?38Views0likes1CommentMicrosoft.Office.Interop.Word issues after the recent Office updates
We use the Interop.Word from a Winforms application for interaction with Word documents. Everything was okay until the latest Office 365 updates on 10/31. Word hangs when used from within Interop.Word. Issue resolved itself when Office update is rolled back. Did something happen or change with respect to Interop.Word during this update? I haven't seen any other reported issues regarding this.108Views0likes1CommentMicrosoft Publisher end date.
Here is a novel idea. If Microsoft is going to terminate Publisher in 2026, it would make sense for the programmers of Word to actually create an import function for Publisher files that faithfully creates the file in word. This is the opposite of forcing the end user to find ALL the previous Publisher files and convert them to pdf or Word.7Views0likes0CommentsTable of contents different colors for headings number
Hi, I am using Office 365 on a WIN 11 computer. I received a project where the number of heading 2 had a different color than the rest of the headings. The document was translated into another language. The agency asked me to review the translated file and update the TOC. All was fine until I updated the TOC and I noticed that all numbers before each heading were black. I started checking the styles set in the source file for any possible mismatch with the translated file. They were identical. Still, when I was updating the translated file those numbers were still black. Therefore, I updated the TOC of the source document and it resulted in the numbers being black as in the translated file. Bottom line, I manually changed the colors of numbers for TOC02. I found it very frustrating. What was I doing wrong? What had I missed? I have been working for years with MS Word. I had never been asked to make numbers in TOC different from one level to another. Is it possible? Thank you, SebastianSolved40Views0likes4CommentsWord Online is the worst program I have ever used.
I understand that this is a free software, but the fact that I can't align two images next to each other at the same height is so bafflingly moronic it almost brings me to tears. Can you please remove this software offering and strop tricking people in to believing that this is a useable product. Microsoft sucks. We'll see how long this post lasts on the forum.57Views0likes2Commentsms-word:ofe|u cannot open pdf documents in windows
Was looking at opening pdf in ms-word using https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/client-developer/office-uri-schemes?source=recommendations and ran into an issue when testing this on windows. Trying to run ms-word:ofe|u|<url of some pdf> e.g run this in any browser: ms-word:ofe|u|https://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/tests/xhtml/testfiles/resources/pdf/dummy.pdf Fails to open in word However this works just fine on mac (intel and silicon) Browser is not relevant. Note that if one changes the file extension to a .docx it does not error and actually tries to get the file (which ofc fails later because it doesn't exist) ms-word:ofe|u|https://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/tests/xhtml/testfiles/resources/pdf/dummy.docx Mac behaviour: you get the pdf to docx convertion screen and then you are shown the converted document as a .docx Does anyone have any ideas how to make this work or if it may indeed be an issue on windows builds?28Views0likes0CommentsMS Word Spanish word Bug
Microsoft Office 2013 all the way to 2021 LTSC has a bug in the spanish language grammar and orthographic checker. The grammar and orthographic checker does not detect and mark the following words: doscientes trescientes cuatrocientes quinientes seiscientes Setecientes Ochocientes Novecientes Correct words would be with "a" or "o" as the last vocals: doscientos trescientos cuatrocientos quinientos seiscientos Setecientos Ochocientos Novecientos All of the former are the spanish names for numbers representing hundreds.Solved41Views0likes3CommentsFormatting and Using Footer in Word
I am creating process documentation that has one main document that lists out the different categories of processes and each category links to a different document that has different processes for that category. Each document has a footer that contains links and a page number. To create these, I used the Blank (Three Columns) layout, erased the first text area, typed in the text/links into the middle, erased the text in the third column, and then added a Page Number from the Current Position. I have a few questions here: When I open this document in OneDrive and in SharePoint, it opens up in my browser and the formatting is completely lost (first photo). I tried to recreate it using Word Online but I can only get it to look like the second picture. I would like everything inline rather than on a separate line. How do I achieve this so I can have a consistent look across both versions? Ideally, I would like the different documents to open in the same version of Word as the main document. For example, if I have the main document open in desktop Word, I want the other links to open in the desktop version, not in browser. Is there a way to configure the URL to do this? I want to be able to click the links in the footer without actually clicking into the footer and clicking them from there. Is that possible without saving this as a PDF? I've attached two documents that show an example of what I'm working with. The only main difference is that all the links are going to be linking to Word documents hosted on a SharePoint site rather than the dummy URLs I used. Any help is appreciated here.Solved61Views0likes3Comments
