Hi everyone, I work at a large educational institution which have rolled out Teams for staff. We're looking at whether Class Teams would work for us too. Is it right that the essential difference between the normal/global Teams for staff, and a Class Teams deployment, is one of permissions and how those permissions for faculty and students are managed? Basically, I guess my question is, "What is the advantage of us deploying Class Teams over creating a normal staff Team with students as members?". We're an HE institution, so not an issue with minors, and we have a robust electronic assessment system so we wouldn't use the assignment feature for summative assessment. Does a deployment of Class Teams give any significant advantage over the Staff set up we already have? Any thoughts very welcome šSolved10KViews0likes2CommentsHelp me get FLIP to work.
Here's my specific question (I think): How can I use Teams for Education if I already use my school email for Teams for Business? My end goal is to be able to use the FLIP app available in Teams for Education. I intend to use FLIP as a video discussion platform for my university classes (FLIP is formerly Flipgrid, a 3rd-party tool from 2012, and acquired by Microsoft in 2018). FLIP is no longer supported by Microsoft as a 3rd-party tool. Recent news articles indicate that certain features have been integrated into Teams for Education. - https://help.flip.com/hc/en-us/articles/23985951972375-A-New-Chapter-for-Flip-FAQ - https://help.flip.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003080054-Microsoft-Teams-integration - https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msteams/forum/all/integrating-flip-into-microsoft-teams/fd43bd57-f755-4c4c-ab0d-2c71f79fdca3 My university already has a Microsoft Teams for Business account. But, FLIP isn't available for Teams for Business. As part of the tool acquisition deal, Microsoft only agreed to provide it for free for educational purposes. Therefore, the FLIP app was removed from the Teams for Business product on July 1st, 2024. So far as I understand, FLIP is only being integrated into the Teams for Education product. I tried downloading Teams for Education, but when I install it, Teams for Business opens. I can't open Teams for Education. Here are my questions: 1. Sales: Can I download and use Teams for Education independently from Teams for Business? Does Teams for Education require purchasing a separate license? Would I need a separate email (apart from the email I use for Teams for Business)? 2. Teams for Business Engineers: Is there a chance similar functionality to the FLIP app will be integrated into Teams for Business? If so, when might I expect that? Many thanks for helping me get FLIP (features) working for my students for Fall semester.3.8KViews0likes3CommentsAssignments unreachable in Teams for Education
I am an educator using Microsoft Teams with 28 of my classes + my staff. We all use accounts in our Microsoft 365 license. When preparing an assignment my screen disappeared and was replaced by a "Sorry, something went wrong. Correlation ID: ...". Since then, I cannot get into my assignments nor the other owners of the team nor my students... When clicking on the Assignment tab I always get the same message with different correlation ID's: "Sorry, something went wrong. Correlation ID: ...". The support couldn't help. I, like many am using Teams for live learning and need to pull off registers to complete on another system. When using insights within Teams to tick off registers, the data doesn't appear to always be accurate about who attends the meeting? Is there a reason for this? I know that one student who definitely attended is not showing as attending when I track student activity? I would use the registers function but it is frustrating as students appear multiple times as they enter and leave and they aren't sorted alphabetically by surname!2.5KViews1like1CommentOrg-Wide Team in Tenant with A5 Licenses?
Hi all, we have a tenant with A5 licenses. I configured my global admin to use one of them and made sure Teams is active as app. However i am unable to create an org-wide team, the option just doesnt show up. Is this not an option for tenants using education licenses? Best Tobias2KViews0likes7CommentsCan't grade my students work - help please!!
Hello. I created an assignment and a grade system with letters (A - excellent to E - negative) as visible in Image 1. After I evaluated the work of my students I found that the feedback text appeared as expected, but the grade itself doesn't appear, even when I export to Excel (images 2 and 3). I don't want to use points, or at the least don't want the students to see them, just the letters, but I cant even change the grading of my assignment now! What can I do?Solved1.6KViews0likes2CommentsShared Channels - Class Teams
As shared channels have now been released, one of limits is, they are not supported in class teams https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/shared-channels#:~:text=Shared%20channels%20are%20not%20supported%20in%20class%20teams. Is this a temporary restriction? Are shared channels coming to class teams at some point? Will we be able to select a class team as a target for a shared channel in a standard team in the future? Many of our educators have been looking forward to this functionality, but are unable to use it, as all our student teams are class teams for the class notebook and assignments functionality. It would be great if we had some idea of a roadmap with regards to class teams, so we can tell staff if they can expect to use the feature at any point! I often work with break-out rooms. If a student falls out because of Wi-Fi problems or something else (which happens every lesson), I have to go to that room to get them out of the lobby. I thought this could be resolved by turning on the lobby skipping meeting options, but so far it's not working the way I want. How can I solve this problem?1.4KViews0likes4CommentsGrading tests with colors
Hello, Iām A teacher in belgium. A few years ago we started a new type of grading system, that uses 3 colors to grade tests, assignments,... Is it possible to grade assignments in Microsoft Team with colors instead of numbers? For example: Grade a assignment with a red color instead of a 20/100?
