Project for the web tasks in To-do app
Hi everyone! Since uservoice cannot be used anymore, I hope this post will be read by a MSFT product group and take the suggestion in consideration 🙂 MS To-do (and/or Tasks by Planner) slowly but surely becomes the central place for tasks around the product line, but one missing piece of the puzzle which I am sure everyone would love is the ability to see the tasks from Project for the web assigned to me in To-do / Tasks by Planner. It is great already that Planner tasks are in to-do (for small/agile projects), but when it comes to complex/waterfall this feature is missing. Does anyone know if this is planned somehow? I could not find anything in MS roadmap... Thank you.Solved38KViews27likes42CommentsProject Online / SharePoint Modern UI
Are there any options for using the SharePoint modern UI with Project Online? It would be nice to be able to utilize a modern page 1) on the PWA landing page, and 2) on the home page for each of the project sites. Has anybody done this yet? And if so, are there any caveats or tricks to make it work properly with the project site template, etc.?27KViews11likes30CommentsProject in teams not opening task chat window
Hi, I have been using Microsoft Project for the web and the Teams chat connection with my development team. Unfortunately, something has happened since Thursday 13-02-2025 that means the chat window is not opening for a task (Microsoft Teams -> Channel -> Project -> Task -> Window) It is extremely annoying, as we use the chat to show examples of development (screenshots, etc.) Does anyone have the same problem, or a solution to how to solve the problem? Hello, Just a quick heads up, if you haven't seen the message in your Office 365 message center already take a look. I have copied some of the details below: Project Online client requirements are changing Beginning in February, 2017, Project Online will require the latest version of Project to connect to Office 365. We are making architectural changes to features in Project Online which impact older versions of Project, connecting to Project Online. How does this affect me? If you are using Project 2016, there will be no impact to the user experience when connecting to Project Online. If you are using any prior version of Project, you will encounter issues connecting to Project Online. This change will not affect you if you are not connecting to Project Online. What do I need to do to prepare for this change? Upgrade to Project 2016, by February 2017, to continue connecting to Project Online without interruption. Please click Additional Information to read more about the system requirements.1.1KViews5likes0CommentsProject Online integration with Planner
When I was at the Project and Planner booths at Ignite, one of the reps staffing the Project booth said that we'd soon be able to include Planner plans in Project Online (so we can see resource assignments across everything), and he had an example that he'd done himself. Does anyone know if or when this will become generally available? We have smaller projects that don't require a whole SharePoint project site and project plan and do quite nicely being managed via Planner alone, but we still want to be able to manage overall resource assignments. Thanks in advance!6.7KViews4likes5CommentsShow Project tasks in Teams
I am really keen to move over to "new" Project or Project for the Web and have the tasks that are created in the Project show up in the Tasks by Planner and To Do. I made a Test Project and created a task and assigned to myself. I would hope it shows up in my Tasks by Planner and To Do lists, but I can't find it anywhere. Is this a missing feature? Am I missing something on my side?2.6KViews4likes2CommentsWhich tool when: Project or Planner?
There's a reasonably new project management tool in play. When should you use Microsoft Project versus the newer Microsoft Planner? There are pros and cons to both and it's important you know them before getting started. That, and proponents of Project may be going overkill now that there's a user-friendly 'competitor'. Here's some guidance to help you along the way. Hopefully you find this info useful! https://icsh.pt/ProjectOrPlanner1.9KViews4likes1CommentPlanner and Project Online Desktop Client
I know a few of you have already noticed this was turned on - and I just posted a short blog on the initial features. Links at the end of the blog for feedback as we'd love to know how you'd like to use this going forward and what features you are hoping for. https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/brismith/2017/08/29/microsoft-planner-linking-plans-to-a-project-task/Solved7KViews4likes6CommentsHow to activate Assigned to me in Project for the Web (Preview)?
I see that the Assigned to Me feature for Project for the Web is still in Preview with an expected general availability in August. We are trying to activate the feature in Preview, but we can’t find it. Which admin center or portal should we be checking? Is it a Power Platform preview feature or maybe a Planner or Teams preview feature? https://www.microsoft.com/en-ww/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=Microsoft%20Project&searchterms=1173632.6KViews3likes8CommentsProject Online Resource Engagements update
A quick update, the Resource Engagements feature will not be automatically enabled for all on the 22nd September, this has been delayed. New PWA instances created will still have the engagements feature automatically but existing PWA instances with Resource plans will not be automatically updated to engagements in September.1.5KViews3likes3CommentsAdd Teams group to Project for the Web with Power Automate
Hello, we are looking for a solution to add a Teams group to a project in "Project for the Web" with a flow. In the web we have just to select the group and click on "Add" like in the screenshot: Now we have a flow which creates a Teams team (it works fine) and we want to add the created team to a project in PftW. We tried it with the standard Dataverse connectors but didnt find the correct field for this: We also checked the new API: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/project-operations/project-management/schedule-api-preview Is it possible to add a team to the project with a flow? If you haven't noticed already: With the newest Project client release you can now link a task to Planner. From my early testing it is for the moment just that a link with an indicator at the task. Hi all, Who's heading for Ignite this year? I checked the sessions and found the following interesting: Learn about the future of Microsoft PPM (Hopefully the long-awaited update on the roadmap) Review Project Online deployment best practices (Maybe some new bits of information) Use the right tools to achieve project management success (Will be an entertaining session for sure, just like last year) Ask an expert panel all your IT Project and Portfolio Management questions See 5 project workflows you need to have in Microsoft Project Online (Best Practices by the organizer of last year's Project Virtual conference) Create powerful reports in Microsoft Project Online (Hopefully data security will be taken into account as well) These might be interesting in terms of seeing what the other product groups are doing: Increase productivity in Dynamics AX with Office 365 Integration Project Service Delivery with Dynamics CRM With the following I'm not sure if they will present just the same stuff like last year: Manage IT projects and portfolios in the cloud Satisfy custom needs with Microsoft Project Online In addition, sessions on PowerApps, Flow, PowerBI, Planner, O365 Groups and, of course, SharePoint will be interesting. What are your favorites? Cheers, Trutz1.5KViews2likes4CommentsProject Online and Azure DevOps Integration
Any ideas on the plan for Project Online and Azure DevOps integration? The process for TFS to Project Server on prem is no longer supported. Predefined field maps only available connectivity, so not really a solution we can use. How are others replacing the TFSFieldMapping? Thanks!15KViews2likes3CommentsExam 70-348 retires
I was just notified by one of my consultants that Managing Projects & Portfolios with Microsoft PPM (70-348) is now being retired. I also see that the whole Microsoft Professional Program is being replaced by Microsoft Learn and I am not clear on what the strategy is here going forward. How does this affect the PPM partnership status and to attain gold / silver status?933Views2likes0CommentsWrong place, wrong time
Turns out Project has nothing to do with wired and wireless display technology, who knew? (I'm not going to fill the forums with joke content, I swear. I know this is only my first post and I don't have a reputation to back that up, but please don't put a warning on my account or anything.)624Views2likes1Comment
