Here's an interesting one: When a new student is added to a Team, they also arrive in class notebook. But when they are removed from the Team, they remain in the notebook. When you go to 'add or remove students' via the desktop add-in, the notebook concerned isn't in the available list. Is it just us or has anyone else found this? It would be a good idea in future releases of Classnotebook to have the Teacher Only space as one of the default section groups without having to activate it. I am training staff to use class notebooks at the heart of their 'E' operation in their classes, and it is very challenging for most- activiating the teacher only space through Manage Notebooks seems to me an unnecessary complication.SolvedJohn GoodhindFeb 18, 2017Iron Contributor21KViews4likes34CommentsSuggestion - let teacher lock page titles in Class notebook
In the OneNote Class Notebook Add-in there's a fantastic feature that lets teachers distribute a page to student notebooks. But, when teachers distribute a page or section to students in their notebooks, students can change the page title making it nearly impossible for teacher to locate that page when she checks them later. It also disables the quick review ability in the Class Notebook Add-in rendering it useless. Suggestion - let teacher lock page titles in Class notebook. Or, automatically lock page titles when distributed.Craig McBainSep 09, 2016Copper Contributor1.9KViews4likes4CommentsOneNote Class Notebook updates include read-only parent or guardian access and Collaboration...
OneNote Class Notebook updates include read-only parent or guardian access and Collaboration Space permissions Over the last year, the OneNote Team has been working with and listening to educators to learn how they are using OneNote Class Notebooks. The Team is continuously impressed by the passion and creativity of teachers and students who are using our tools. A common theme we heard was how OneNote continues to save teachers time and enhance collaboration in the classroom. In our conversations, we learned that parents and guardians are also curious to learn more about OneNote to help engage with their students’ learning progress. To address the top requests from teachers, administrators and parents/guardians, the Team pleased to announce the release of four new features in OneNote Class Notebook: Parent or guardian access to Class Notebook (read-only links) Parent or guardian access APIs Permissions in the Collaboration Space Delete student content when removing permissions Read more about these new features on Office Blogs.Maddie_EganApr 19, 2017Former Employee4.3KViews3likes3CommentsAnnouncement: Automate OneNote staff notebook creation and more with new API
We are excited to announce the launch of the new OneNote Staff Notebook API for Office 365! Since the launch of OneNote Staff Notebooks last year, the only way to create staff notebooks was through the OneNote Staff Notebook app. Thanks to all the feedback we’ve received from school leaders, teachers and IT admins, we made it possible to now create OneNote staff notebooks programmatically as well. What this means is that IT admins, Microsoft Education partners and others can automate the creation and updates of OneNote staff notebooks across a school or district. This allows for large time savings and efficiency for teachers, as well as school IT staff. Read the MSDN article on the OneNote Staff Notebook API for in-depth instructions. Today’s post was written by Jacqueline Campbell, Computing Science teacher at St Mungo’s RC High School in Falkirk, Scotland. Our OneNote journey at St Mungo’s RC High School in Scotland started in early 2015 when a few “early adopter” teachers started using the OneNote Class Notebook app when it became available on the waffle menu through our Glow (Scottish schools intranet) sign-in. Word soon spread about what a fantastic tool we had available to us. A pivotal point for our school was when we hosted a Digital TeachMeet where best practices with OneNote and other Office 365 applications were shared with colleagues not only from our own school but from other schools and organizations. Our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) made the decision at that point to underpin our new Teaching and Learning policy with digital learning—adding a focus on the OneNote Class Notebook app. Read more on Office Blogs.Lana O'BrienJan 04, 2017Former Employee760Views3likes0CommentsUpdates to the OneNote Class Notebook add-in—read/unread indicators in Review Student Work and more

What's the correct procedure to delete a Class Notebook that's been created via a Team and how can I view where they are stored? I've deleted the team that has the class notebook in but i'm still seeing the notebook listed under Office 365->Class Notebook->Manage Notebook under the co-owned notebooks. Also what's the correct way to add\remove students and teachers to Class notebook created in Teams, are we supposed to do this in Teams rather than Onenote? Have all the features of the different versions of OneNote available on the desktop (Classic) app, in particular, the Insert Camera button that optimises a picture for Whiteboard and document. One of our staff members at our organization was looking for this feature to be returned has anyone found a reason as too why it was removed and will it return.mjm8791Mar 10, 2017Copper Contributor4.1KViews2likes4Comments
