Microsoft Teams vs. Zoom
Hi Community We are in need of great marketing material to convince our customers that MS Teams is better, safer and provides all the benefits that Zoom provides. Some of our feedback includes In a large group setting there will be some participants who are worried about using any system other than Zoom. Slack has a video meeting feature now, so you have meetings and collaboration spaces. Two-person Huddles are available in the free version of Slack. A paid slack account can support Huddles of up to 50 people. Some outside presenters simply don’t want to use anything but Zoom. You can establish a Zoom ongoing meeting link where a staff member doesn’t have to be present, and participants can use it whenever they want to meet. With Teams, at least one participant needs to have a Guest account in our tenant to start the meeting. The browser is more difficult to use, and participants don’t want to install the software. The meeting join experience is more cumbersome. Don’t know how to enable audio devices. Don’t realize that the hyperlink is the meeting link. Takes time to embed the entire, visible meeting link like Zoom. A plus is that Teams allows you to set up features and initial chat ahead of time. Some people have trouble with the Bookings experience. Staff and others experience what appears to be bandwidth issues, running other apps at the same time. Teams Notes and Loop seem useful, but there is some initial confusion about how the new features work. Hi, Bit of a niche question and probably only relates to non-profit customers who subscribed to this prior to September 2019. I know that back in September 2019 it was announced that the non-profit donation of 50-seat Microsoft 365 Enterprise Mobility + Security E3 was being discontinued for new customers, but Microsoft said then that customers who had already procured these donated subscriptions could keep them in perpetuity as a legacy donation. A couple of our clients have received renewal invoices for this product but with the non-profit staff pricing rather than the donation pricing. Of customers who have had a renewal recently, only 2 have been charged with others still receiving the donation. These are all Direct Bill customers. I know that the Office365 E2 Grant is being discontinued from October renewals but have not seen anything similar for the EM+S E3 donation. Have I missed something? Has anyone else experienced similar? I have reached out with a service request but the suggested explanation was way off the mark, saying that it was due to changing from monthly to annual billing, which wasn't the case, as shown by the previous year's zero annual invoice. Appreciate your input. Thanks, Colin6.9KViews2likes14CommentsAzure Arc endpoints

Microsoft is making a change to multi-factor authentication (MFA). The phone call method will be removed to improve security for Microsoft. On March 19, 2024 PST the default MFA method will be changed from Phone Call to the Microsoft Authenticator app. You can verify your MFA configuration at https://aka.ms/MySecurityInfo and make sure that your devices are up to date. What is the Microsoft Authenticator app? This is a mobile application available for install on your smartphone or tablet as an MFA method to approve sign-in requests. Instructions for Microsoft Authenticator app installation and usage can be found on https://aka.ms/AuthAppInfo Why is phone call authentication being removed? To improve Microsoft’s security posture, we are transitioning users to more secure authentication methods. The phone call method enables you to verify your identity by calling your registered phone number to validate. This method is vulnerable to phishing attacks resulting in identity compromise. Information and Support If you are unable to validate a different authentication method or for any issues or questions, please contact Global Helpdesk via https://aka.ms/TechWeb4.3KViews2likes0CommentsFundraising and Engagement solution retiring on December 31, 2026

Hello, I'm Tom from IT4Causes and we love Microsoft's support for nonprofits! A few years back, when Azure Virtual Desktop was just coming on line, we understood that we could not pay for AVDs using the $3500/yr Azure credit for nonprofits. Has that changed? Is anybody out there using their Azure credits for VDIs, and if so, how is working for you? Thanks!2.4KViews3likes3CommentsInteresting question posed to me yesterday
Since MS's Nonprofit Global Leaders Summit, I have been talking to many people in our organisation about the benefits of Gen AI and trying to allay fears that it is going to take their jobs. However, yesterday a person getting started with her career asked me an excellent and very valid question that I did not know how to answer. I thought I would bring it to this community to see if anyone had thoughts or ideas on how to respond to it. This person is a creative person. The question: "I understand that AI can help me do my job. However, I get immense job and self-satisfaction from the creative process and knowing that I am the one who created the content, design, whatever it might be. If I offload that to AI, where does the job satisfaction come in?" Thoughts?2.3KViews4likes13CommentsParticipe do AI for ChangeMakers em 27/05
