SFB not changing status automatically to "In a meeting" when joining a meeting.
I'm having issues with Skype for business on my PC. When I join a meeting linked to my Outlook, my skype status will not update to "in a meeting" nor is that option available for me to change manually. If anyone has any insight on this I'd greatly appreciate it.
Skype for Business compatibility with regular Skype
Greetings. We're new to Skype for Business having switched to Office 365 midway through 2017. Clients and vendors that used to be able to reach me via Skype are having difficulty connecting with us now that we run Skype for Business. Files do not transfer during IM sessions, and conference calls involving more than one person (where I am the only Skype for Business user) fail to connect regardless of who initiates the call. All Microsoft seems to say is that the two programs aren't very compatible, but this is a big impediment if we cannot communicate well with clients/vendors. Does anyone have insight into this? We run Windows 10 on our laptops and the 32bit version of Skype for Business. Thanks! Greg
Teams Room "Cannot Fetch Calendar"
Good day, I have just finished setting up our Lenovo ThinkSmart Hub500. Creating the room and users account as per MS instructions is all done and Teams Room is logged in. I can start a new meeting and project but no meetings are showing up. At the top it says "Cannot Fetch Calendar". What are we doing wrong? Thanks.Is there anyway to turn off the mute announcement in Skype for Business?
Specifically, the announcement of "Mute Off" when you want to talk during a conference call. The volume and duration can make you miss discussion or an opportunity to insert yourself. If we want to encourage people to go on mute to avoid background noise, we ought to eliminate this announcement all together.Setup PSTN Conferencing in Microsoft Teams
Microsoft just released Teams PSTN Conferencing service right before Microsoft Ignite. First of all, ensure that you assigned PSTN conferencing license(s) to user(s) Login to Teams Meetings > Schedule a Meeting 4. Setup a new meeting, add attendees as follow. For now, you cannot invite external users as attendees in Teams yet like you can in SFB Meeting Invite, I believe you can do that in soon future. So, if you need to invite external users, just copy the invite message and email them. Attendees received meeting invitation email as follow, Meetings > click on meeting invite and Join button. I invited two users, one user is my internal user who received the invite email, I manually copy the invitation email and send to the other user, who will join the meeting using his mobile/phone; both joined the meeting, you will see a user is using his mobile number to join and while my internal users use teams client to join. The external user called +6531570124 (Toll) number to join the PSTN conferencing. It's surprising to take note that I cannot join Teams meeting using my SFB client though I can see the invite in my SFB client's meeting calendar, when I click the meeting link, it brings me to either use web browser or use Teams client. It’s also noted that I cannot invite external users and dial telephone number -- yet.
Headset Mutes Automatically (16.3.240)
Since installing 16.3.240 update a couple days ago every time I start a new voice conversation my headset (Plantronics W740-m) automatically mutes itself. As soon as it does this once then the headset will mute itself in every other application that includes audio. If I reboot I can use other applications as normal but as soon as I start Skype for Business and initiate another call it is right back to the same behavior. This is unbelievably annoying. Anyone have a fix or is this something Microsoft will need a code change to address?

Hi Everyone, I have a strange situation in my company, that a delegete cannot create meetings on behalf of the delegator. There are permisisons set to Editor under Outlook -> Account Settings -> Delegate Access. Also Delegated access set under Skype for business -> Tools -> Options -> Call forwarding -> Edit my delegate members Skype client policy under the user exists has a setting "EnableExchangeDelegateSync = True" Delegator has signed out from Skype and signed back in to confirm the access, but when the delegate tries to create a meeting on Delegator calendar gets a message, that permissions are denied. Do you have any ideas what else can be missing? I have a lot of other users setup the same way and they are working as expected, except the one that I am describing here. We can successfully add regular Skype users to our Skype for Business contacts list but when we try to communicate with them we get the following message: "This message wasn't sent to xxxx yyyy due to company policy." I've checked in the Skype for Business admin center and made sure that the public IM connectivity is set to allow communication with Skype users. And, there are no blocked domains and the default "external access" settings is configured to "On except for blocked domains". Anyone know why this would be happening?Multiple chats sessions with same contact in S4B window ?
I see multiple instances of chats with the same contact. This is really cluttering up my Skype for Business app window in both my mobile iOS and my desktop app. Example: Chat session with Joe at 10:00 for 10 minutes Chat session with Joe again at 14:00 for 15 minutes Now I see two separate chat streams with the same contact. Why isn't this singular? If I have a chat session with Joe and i do not actively remove/delete that chat session, shouldn't it just continue the next time one of us write? Is this by design? Do I need to adjust something in Skype for Business Admin on 365? I am using latest builds . iOS Version 6.11.1.310 and Mac OSX 16.2.156 Please help, this is sure to cause complaints amongst staff and I expect will introduce user acceptance numbers to drop. Especially if this is to be compard to WhatsApp, or any attempt to replace WhatsApp. Cheers p
Change User Number to Service Number
In S4B Online, is it possible to convert a user number into a service number? We are working on moving a client to S4B PSTN Calling and since AA isn't available yet, we are going to use Team Call Groups to handle the primary incoming line to the business. When AA is GA, we will want to change that number from a user number to a service number.
'Meeting Room' license vs 'Common Area Phone' license vs 'E1+Phone System' license
We have 7 meetings rooms (a mix of Polycom VVX and Logitech SmartDocks), what is the best way to license them? I can see there is a thing called 'Meeting Room' which is $20.60, 'Common Area Phone' which is $11.00 or 'E1+Phone System' which is $20.40. What should I be using? and what is the difference between them? Thanks Trent.
Disable Skype for Business Online inactive time change
Hi, Is it possible to block users from being able to edit the time in which they are marked as idle or away in Skype for Business Online on a Windows device. I can find details on how to change the number of minutes but this can be overidden by the end user. Ideally these settings would be able to be managed server side using S4B policies but this does not seem to be the case. Can anyone confirm if this is a limitation at present. Hi Apologies if this has already been asked. We've started using Skype for Business, and a few of us have installed the new Mac client. One problem we have found is whereas inviting external users to a meeting via email is fairly straight forward on a PC, we can't find the equivalent functionality on the Mac client. Is this supported yet, or are we missing something? Many thanks
