Shared mailbox cannot be pinned to Favorite
When I want to rightclick on the inbox under Shared with me in New Outlook the pane doesn't show up - so I cannot pin it to Favorites. There is simply nothing, just a very short shadow of the pane. I tried to delete and reinstall the new Outlook app but to no avail. Does anyone have the solution her, I would highly appreciate your help. Hi All, new here, I’ve got my primary hotmail email address, over the years I’ve used this as the recovery email for a couple of different hotmail accounts, I’ve since forgotten what those email addresses were, is there anyway I can find out what they were from my main primary account? Thanks in advance8Views0likes0CommentsExported .pst loses a year of mail?
I want to migrate my website to a new hosting provider (need a new site anyway as K2 won't work with Joomla 5). To keep my mail, it appears my only option is to use an IMAP client, e.g. Outlook. I want to export my mail as .pst, set my account to the new mail server, and import the .pst. But every time I attempt this and import the .pst, I lose exactly 1 year of mail. Nothing after early March 2024 appears. I have no idea why.3Views0likes0CommentsOther employee email folders appearing in nav pane
I am using Outlook Classic. Today, I noticed that 3 of my employee's are appearing in the left navigational pane. Upon opening each name, I see their email structure, folders and sub-folders. I also see that Outlook is "updating" those employees. My first idea was that somehow those employees were "shared mailboxes", but no reference in Outlook shows that any "shared mailboxes" have been setup. I have check the account settings and only MY email address is shown. I have tried the following ............ Select File > Account Settings > Account Settings. On the Email tab, select the Exchange account, then click Change > More Settings. On the Advanced tab, under Open these additional mailboxes, select the other person's mailbox and then select Remove. But, no other mailboxes are shown ....... Any ideas where I might go from here to remove those employee references in my Outlook ?????? Hello, Our team utilizes the Microsoft Bookings App to manage studies. We instruct team members to update their shared calendar in Outlook with their working hours which we then copy into the Bookings App. The issues is that the shared calendar times that we see are rarely aligned with the times entered by the clinicians (Especially when using the old vs. new Outlooks) , so we cannot trust the shared calendar as a viable source for their working hours. Has anyone experienced similar issues with shared calendars?25Views0likes1CommentMS Outlook connection to gmail via IMAP
It should be possible to connect to gmail via IMAP. However MS Outlook doesn't let you do this. Instead it makes you login via a web browser and give full permission to your gmail, including the ability to delete all email forever. Even the MS support crew says that there is no way around this and we must contact gmail for security options. But going to gmail (Google) and posing a similar question yields the answer: ( THIS PART FROM GOOGLE) No, you don't need to give permissions to delete all your email to use IMAP in Gmail. IMAP access is always turned on for personal Google accounts. Explanation - IMAP, or Internet Message Access Protocol, allows you to download messages from Gmail to your computer. - You can use IMAP to view and edit your email in Microsoft Outlook, even when you're not connected to the internet. - When you delete an email in one place using IMAP, it's deleted in all places. - To delete emails from the server through IMAP, you can manually move them to the Gmail Trash folder. (END GOOGLE PART) Which seems to be correct. So the question is why does MS Outlook require this rather extreme form of permission - and furthermore - why do they not allow a simple IMAP connection to gmail. I know it used to be there. The new Outlook no longer supports direct drag & drop of email attachments into browser-based apps like SharePoint or OneDrive. In the classic Outlook, this worked seamlessly, but now we have to go through the desktop as a workaround – an unnecessary extra step that significantly slows down our workflow. Please restore this essential feature! Many businesses and power users rely on drag & drop for efficient work, and this limitation is a major downgrade.78Views4likes0CommentsReenable Location suggestions in Outlook Meetings
Hi all Last week, I updated my Office license to include Copilot for Office. Over the weekend, my Location row/bar/selection in Meetings has changed from the flexible Location Suggestions that suggested free locations as I typed to a simple dropdown. I have no idea why. How can I turn the the flexible location suggestions on again? Thanks for any help. BR26Views0likes1CommentNew Outlook: Moving all emails from one custom Folder back into Inbox?
I use Folders to aggregate emails from various stakeholders I am working with and some of the oldest Folders will have maybe a few thousand emails in them. Trouble is some of those key stakeholders left the company and I now have a few useless Folders in Outlook that can be removed, but I do not want to delete the emails as they may still be needed for reference. Ideally I'd want to move them back to Inbox or an Archive folder. So far I've tried selecting all emails and moving them, but Outlook does not allow that. I've also tried editing a rule for a stakeholder to move all their emails to Inbox, but that didn't work either as the "Run Rule Now" option disappears when I select Inbox. Is there a way of doing this without manually selecting & moving emails by the dozen?120Views0likes4CommentsConfigure Outlook spell checker to ignore words with undescores
Suggested feature: i would like to have a configuration option for the Outlook spell checker to ignore all words that have interspersed undescore characters (words containing _ underscores); e.g. acct_id. I do not want to "Add to Dictionary" each of these technical terms one by one. I would prefer to configure the spell checker and be aware that there is not going to be any spell-checking done on any of the technical terms used in the e-mail.16Views0likes0CommentsWebmail Calendar - recurring series exception missing data
We use recurring events to book in clients. When an available slot is filled, the client info is put in the box of the event, so it becomes an exception to the series. Makes sense. However, if you look at that exception again after saving the changes, the body portion of the event is completely blank. This happens in webmail ONLY. If I access the calendar via the desktop app, all the client information is visible. Our staff all use webmail and this was working fine up until this week - I can't find what changed!12Views0likes0Commentsto do task bar not showing any tasks

I have a website and email account hosted with Siteground. I used the IMAP and SMTP settings to login to Outlook. This is successful on the Windows desktop app but is not working on the iOS iPhone Outlook app. I am 100% using all the correct settings as they were confirmed by both Siteground and Microsoft chat support although they couldn't fix the situation. I tried uninstalling the Outlook app which also didn't work. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?69Views0likes1CommentFocused vs Other in Outlook - How does it work?
I am trying to identify the default algorithm for Outlook to sort my e-mails in Focused vs Other. I see the doc references to an algorithm, and there are ways to customize specific Transport Rules for either a particular user/inbox or at the org level, I'm just trying to understand the default behaviour at a high level. Anyone have any links/docs that can elaborate on this? Much Appreciated!66Views0likes2CommentsA custom mobile Outlook add-in is not loading, which is working well in the Outlook Web
We have created a manifest file by following the link as mentioned in the Microsoft Documentation https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dev/add-ins/outlook/mobile-event-based?tabs=jsonmanifest and uploaded to O365 admin for using it in Web application and mobile application, but Add-in is not showing in the Mobile application Add-in list. I have tried clearing cache in the mobile app and also tried PowerShell Command Set-OrganizationConfig -OutlookMobileGCCRestrictionsEnabled $false but it is not working. My questions are: Have we missed anything after deployment or in the Manifest file? Do we need to run any other PowerShell commands to display the application in the Mobile Outlook Add-in list? In some forums it was mentioned that the Add-in needs to be Whitelisted, is there any such thing. If so, how to do that? Please suggest us on how to proceed and help us with this manifest file (Add-in) to be working in the Outlook mobile application.10Views0likes0CommentsDeleting an item that won't delete?
I'm using the new Outlook (as an app) on my PC. There is one [draft] item in the delete folder that won't delete no matter what I do. It's an email from 2023. I've tried deleting it from the deleted folder, deleting it from the restore area, moving it to other folders and deleting it, sending it as an email. None has worked - it keeps reappearing in the deleted folder. At the same time, it does not appear online in the email provider for that account, nor does it appear in the desktop version of Outlook 2019. How can I get rid of it? Thank you in advance!39Views0likes0CommentsCan't add shared mailboxes
Hi everyone I have an M365 Business Tenant with just one Exchange Online Plan 1 license active and one shared mailbox. The license I use for my locally installed Office Apps is from a M365 Family Plan. I can fully integrate my account with the EXO license but can't add the shared mailbox as seen in my screenshot. Is this due to the licensing through M365 Family? Does this disable the functionality to add shared mailboxes? The shared mailbox can be added in OWA and on mobile but not in my Outlook client. Thanks for any advice.26Views0likes0Commentsvba to extract excel file in subfolder email attachement
