I am trying to validate an access token from ms teams in my backend application. The validation fails because the siganture of the token is invalid. This is how I obtain the token: export class MyWebPart extends BaseClientSideWebPart { protected async onInit(): Promise<void> { await super.onInit(); this.context.sdks.microsoftTeams?.teamsJs.authentication.getAuthToken() .then(token => sendToBackend(token)); } } When I copy the token into JWT.io it says that the signature of the token is invalid. I notice that in the token the issuer is: https://sts.windows.net/{{INSERT TENANT ID}}/ and in the openid-configuration: https://login.microsoftonline.com/{{INSERT TENANT ID}}/v2.0 How do I get a proper token?20Views0likes1CommentCreateChannel in GraphAPI sometimes results in not creating the corresponding Sharepoint/OneDrive
Currently the creation of a channel through the Graph API frequently results in the relative, corresponding Sharepoint folder not being created. When using the Graph API to create a channel the response indicates creating the channel was a success, but when going to the files tab it shows: "Your files canβt be found, working on it to restore them." After having clicked on the files tab in the Teams UI, the folder is created eventually (after a couple of minutes). But because automated processes depend on the channel folder, we donβt want to ask the user to manually open the team before the other processes can continue. So: Team created: Ok -> Channel created: Ok-ish (But missing the linked folder) -> One-drive/share point folder, with the name of the channel: Not created Sometimes the folder is created properly, but lately more often it is not created (Not even after 3-4 days of waiting) until the user opens the files tab in the Teams client. This behaviour is new since it worked flawlessly until a week ago. Is there a known workaround for this?9.8KViews1like28CommentsMeeting Options are limited
Hello, I have run into a problem of not having a full access to meeting options. I would like to schedule meetings for other people in the office where I do not necessarily have to attend. I would also like to assign other people as co-hosts so that they are able to admit people and have more control of the meeting. There should be settings of being able to let people come in without waiting in the waiting room as well, but I cannot seem to find it anywhere. Here is the attached screenshot: These are the only two options I get when clicking "Meeting Options". Additionally, whenever I set up a meeting, some people are not able to respond to it because they get an error of undeliverable response: "delivery has failed to these recipients or groups". What is the issue here? Does it have to do with how Outlook is set up? How can I change these limitations and errors? Thank you so much!18Views0likes0CommentsUpgrade from Free to Teams
Hello I have an email email address removed for privacy reasons that was part of a family Office 365 subscription with free teams. I then create a number of appointments for people I also have a business basic plan for email address removed for privacy reasons with a standard Teams license which I want to use, so I can have a phone plan. I now have two teams account for email address removed for privacy reasons one that is personal and the other which is the business account. I remove email address removed for privacy reasons from the Office 365 subscription So with teams, now I get two accounts for email address removed for privacy reasons, one that is personal , one that is business If I log onto teams with the business, I can see my calendar appointments created with the free edition, but I cant join them. Is there a way, to be able to transfer the organiser to my business account (although its the same email address) or a way to use the same links from the free edition in the business edition. Any help gratefully received Best Wishes Rob6Views0likes0CommentsMoving from skype to teams does not migrate my chat history

I cannot see my skype chat history into teams and also not all of my contacts are there. I have enabled skype account contacts to sync from Settings => People => Sync contact => Manage but still not all contacts are synced and no chat history at all. Using the Teams Calendar function: Before a meeting is started, there is a need to add invitees to an existing meeting. Is there way to add the invitee so only the new invitee receives the invitation. Currently, when this function is attempted, all of the invites receive the meeting invitation. If you use Outlook Calendar, it gives you the option to update only the new invitees or all invitees. I would appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thanks.Solved1.2MViews1like32CommentsMicrosoft Imposes 1-Year Retention for Teams Meeting Attendance Reports
Microsoft has enabled a one-year retention policy for Teams meeting attendance reports. Tenants canβt opt out of the policy or set a different retention period. Microsoft says that the new policy exists to make sure that Teams complies with the Microsoft privacy policy. Another way of looking at the situation is that the new policy will simply remove some old data that no one ever looks at. https://office365itpros.com/2025/03/11/attendance-report-retention-policy/26Views0likes0CommentsQueue App - historical agent information
We have recently introduced Teams Queue application , it works well but doesn't seem to provide the same information for historical reporting than real time. As an example: We are able to see the number of calls presented to each agent within the group as it happens (today), It shows us all the presented, the number answered, abandoned or timed out in real time, to ensure the correct number of resource is aligned this is essential. It doesn't however, show this data historically, to see an overall number of calls answered, abandoned or timed out per agent for a specific date period. The historical data only seems to provides generic information for the call queue as a whole, not the agents opted in, even when extracted into an excel report. Is there a way to get this data historically ? or is it just not yet available. Without, we are reliant on daily Screen pics of agent impact, which is not very good! (It is also not available within the PowerBI reporting, only calls answered are documented here)161Views0likes6CommentsChanging Notification Settings for all users on a Team
Is there a way to change the notification settings for everyone that is part of a Team Channel? In other words... we have a channel in our Teams chat that we want everyone to receive notifications for whenever there is a reply in that channel. I don't mind using PowerShell or whatever I need to use in order to achieve this. We just want everyone on the team to receive notifications for all replies in a channel. Background: We attempted to migrate a client group to Teams in order to enable functionality with our Office 365 setup. We have an app for them to use, and we have a Site that we share files on, etc. This group of people are newer to technology, so having everything be user-friendly is a must. The problem came up that nobody was receiving notifications for replies in the Team channels. They are only used to SMS text messaging and group texting, so they want to use the channels similarly to group texts. The group ended up switching back to texting because its easier for them to use. We need them to switch to Teams, so we want to fix this issue for them and make things as easy as possible.Solved200KViews7likes35CommentsTeams revert to regular version on start-up
Hi! I have enabled the "Public preview" option and LOVE the combined chat/channel feature! Anyways, once my computer has been switched off and I turn it on the public preview is "reverted", but if I restart Teams, it is available again - is that a known issue?362Views2likes6CommentsMS Teams Video quality is terrible
I am a MS fan for the most part, but you guys need to fix this Teams video quality issue. Our teams have been using it for weeks now and people are regularly getting blurry and poor audio / video quality. We have been pushing people to Teams for the collaboration, etc, but they are pushing back to use Zoom. Here is a video I put together showing this issue. Please MS fix this asap. https://youtu.be/aW3U16OKTiASolved289KViews6likes39CommentsWindows - A JavaScript error occurred in the main process
Hello Everyone, While installing Microsoft Teams, the error message described in the subject line is thrown. Am running Microsoft Windows Version - 1909 A couple of troubleshooting tips found on https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/MicrosoftTeams/troubleshoot-installation have been tried but the error still shows up. Any idea on how to resolve this issue will be greatly appreciated. UPDATES I did a comparison of 2 SquirrelSetup.log files. (Both PC runs Windows 1909 and the same build number. The PC 1(Throwing up the JavaScript error above)logged some issues not found in the PC 2 as shown below: ----start---- ApplyReleasesImpl: Couldn't run Squirrel hook, continuing: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Teams\current\Teams.exe: System.OperationCanceledException: The operation was canceled. at System.Threading.CancellationToken.ThrowOperationCanceledException() at Squirrel.Utility.<>c__DisplayClass11_0.<InvokeProcessAsync>b__0() at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.InnerInvoke() at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.Execute() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotificat ion(Task task) at Squirrel.Utility.<InvokeProcessAsync>d__11.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotificat ion(Task task) at Squirrel.UpdateManager.ApplyReleasesImpl.<>c__DisplayClass18_1.<<invokePostInsta ll>b__2>d.MoveNext() ---end---- FURTHER UPDATES Many suggestions found on GitHub, Microsoft support site, blogs and other websites have been tried. So after spending several hours googling and searching for a working solution, the following finally worked on the PC in question. A standard user account was created on the PC. Downloaded a new Microsoft teams app. In services.msc, the status of a service called Quality Windows Audio Video Experience was also manually started. Executed the app and no JavaScript error was thrown. N.B: I am still not satisfied with this fix, cos i applied the same troubleshooting approach on another PC throwing up the same JavaScript error, and the fix doesn't work on it. πSolved201KViews1like11CommentsRSC permissions cause app to fail installation in personal scope
I am trying to update an existing up to send notifications. The plan is to use RSC permissions for it. I configured the manifest (v 1.19) with the following scopes: "authorization": { "permissions": { "resourceSpecific": [ { "name": "TeamsActivity.Send.Chat", "type": "Application" }, { "name": "TeamsActivity.Send.Group", "type": "Application" }, { "name": "TeamsActivity.Send.User", "type": "Application" } ] } }, I then sideloaded it successfully with this configuration into a team and also into a chat. However when I try to install it into the personal scope directly I get the error in a dialog box: Something went wrong In the network tab of the web inspector I see that this call fails with 403: https://teams.microsoft.com/api/mt/emea/beta/users/apps/definitions/appPackage The body of the response says: {"errorCode":"WebApplicationInfoIdConflictOnSideloadingIntoTeam"} However, when I change the included permissions in the manifest to only TeamsActivity.Send.Group the app installs successfully into personal scope "authorization": { "permissions": { "resourceSpecific": [ { "name": "TeamsActivity.Send.Group", "type": "Application" } ] } }, So I guess it has nothing to do with an id conflict. I also made sure to remove all old instances of the sideloaded app before (which was never a problem so far). How can I use all three RSC scopes in my app manifest and still install the app into the personal scope. Or what could be wrong? Anything I could check to figure out why this is not working but only the TA.Send.Group scope?63Views0likes2CommentsMissing something obvious? Teams App install with custom parameters?
This one is really throwing our team for a loop! We are trying to pass two custom parameters (ID & Token) during app installation Each customer in our application has a unique ID and Token, which we need to pass when they install our Teams bot. We attempted to append these parameters to the installation URL as follows: π Installation URL: https://teams.microsoft.com/l/app/feea88de-b85f-4a8a-a724-d076d8de24af?source=app-details-dialog&context={id:%20%22%22,%20token:%20%22%22} However, we are unable to retrieve these parameters in the installationUpdate callback. What is the correct approach to pass and retrieve custom parameters (ID & Token) during app installation? Thank you for any insight!118Views0likes4CommentsWhen using proxy on localhost teams fails to establish TCP connection for login
This is a strange problem, and it took us quite a while to get to the bottom of it. We tested on Windows 10 and Windows 11 with the latest Teams app. What is the problem? We are working on a solution the monitors network traffic for a safe school environment. As part of that we install a local proxy on Windows devices. The proxy is configured as manual proxy in the proxy settings. When requesting to sign into Teams, Teams establishes a connection to `login.microsoftonline.com`. Without the proxy that works without problems. Teams establishes a TCP connection, sends a CONNECT, TLS handshake and then encrypted data. When activating the local proxy any connection is fine (e.g. `teams.events.data.microsoft.com`, `nav.smartscreen.microsoft.com` are established just fine), but the one to `login.microsoftonline.com` is not established. In Teams this results in an error page that the login page can't be reached (it reports a 404, but it's not a 404). We ensured that nothing was blocked and there are no lower level connection errors, then we dug deeper with Wireshark. Once accessing the login page (which would trigger connection making for `login.microsoftonline.com`) we see a `SYN` being sent to establish the TCP connection, but there is never a `SYN/ACK`. The local proxy never receives this `SYN` (no connection is ever established), somehow it never reaches the destination but is "dropped". We can see that Teams tries to re-transmit the SYN, but it never arrives at the destination. A tcp `SYN` not reaching it's destination points to it being blocked somewhere, so we: - Turned the firewall off (anything that can be turned off is turned off) - Added specific allow rules for any other device control that could block. This did not help, the problem keeps persisting. (Note: We were able to reproduce this problem with a different proxy solution as well. Once we configure the proxy on localhost we run into this issue.) We also tried: - Configure the local proxy with the IP address of the machine within the local network (i.e. 10.12.128.2) instead of `127.0.0.1`: Leads to the same problem. - Run the local proxy on another Windows machine, turn off firewall and connect to the proxy on the other machine: No problems with this solution, the connection is established fine. We then tried to configure the proxy via PAC file (without a DIRECT fallback), which result in different weird behavior. In the browser the behavior is as expected - pages that are blocked by the proxy report a connection failure, pages that are allowed can be accessed. For Teams login we don't run into problems with the PAC file based settings, but Teams does not route the connection to `login.microsoftonline.com` through the proxy! The connection to `login.microsoftline.com` somehow implicitly bypasses the system wide proxy settings when using a PAC file (i.e. I see the connection in Wireshark, but it's directly established, not going through the proxy even though it is configured via PAC file). Other connections related to Teams are established through the proxy as expected. I don't think this is expected behavior. I have Wireshark traces that show all the different behaviors. If needed I'm happy to add them to this ticket. It would be great to get help with a better understanding what could be the problem. What could cause this behavior (in Teams / in Windows)? With a better understanding of the behavior we could work on overcoming this problem.1.2KViews0likes4CommentsTeams room reservation setting
Hello, Not sure if anyone has encountered the same dilemma as I have, but I can't seem to locate this Teams Room reservation setting anywhere. I've check on both the Teams admin portal setting & the device setting. I have basic & pro license and still do not see this feature anywhere. Device: MaxHub XCoreKit Teams app: TMicrosoft managed rooms 5.24.14101.0 This is for Panel setting but we only have a touchscreen console in the room. Settings > Device settings > Teams admin settings > Meetings and then turn off Allow room reservations. Can't find the below option (stock img). Let me know if you need anything else. I'm currently having an issue with my Teams. I'm in the Mountain time zone, which recently switched to daylight savings. My system clock (Windows 10) has updated correctly, but Teams still believes it's behind an hour, despite multiple restarts. This only seems to occur with the desktop app. The web app has the correct time. What can be done to fix this? Everything I've read suggests that it uses the system time/timezone, but that appears to be incorrect, otherwise my Teams would have the correct time. What's interesting is that when I check the teams logs at 15:21, I see this: Mon Mar 09 2020 14:21:18 GMT-0700 (GMT-07:00) <17724> -- info -- Focusing main window Mountain Daylight time is GMT-0600, which is my current system timezone when you adjust for daylight savings. Why is Teams is using the unadjusted GMT-0700 instead?42KViews3likes13Comments
